Hello, all. I was wondering if anyone has information about the following: I have a '79 chevy half ton 4x4. The front end has springs that are 'upside down'. The center where they meet the axle is higher than the eyes on the ends. This appears to be a stock condition, as the front end works without any problems. My question is, can I take the springs off and turn them over so that the leaves look normal, with the lowest part meeting the axle at the connection point? This would give me about 2" of lift, I would then do a shackle flip on the rear. Thanks for any info, Camo4stealth.

your springs are not upsidedown, they have a negative arch to give the truck a better ride

Sounds like the tired @ss front springs I used to have. There's nothin to be done but getting some 3-leaf replacenents. Factory (aftermarket) ones aren't that expensive. Rough Country front spings run about $85.00 each - bushings and springs. Don't waste your money on having the old ones re-arched, and don't waste your money on a bone yard set to save a few bucks.
Turning the ones you got over wont work, and could be dangerous if you force them to work. just some ideas for you.
