Can anyone point me in the direction of a web site, or publication that contains a listing of engine block numbers and axle numbers - (stamped codes) for 70-87 Chevy Trucks ? I would appreciate any help with this.

How about e-mailing your question to fred.williams@primedia.com . I'm sure he could help you with your question.
I've e-mailed Willie from FourWheeler about my pinging problem and he quickly e-mailed me back giving me info. that might help me.
I'll give you his e-mail address williesjeep@blackfoot.net

www.73-87.com or www.67-72chevytrucks.com (they have a VERY active 73-87 board that can help you)

Thanks for the help and the info, but I found what I was looking for right under my nose on the 4WOR site. It's under the tech articles links (4X4 tech). A lot of info on what to look for when buying an engine, tranny, or axle from a junkyard as well as codes for engines, trannies & axles. Really good detailed info on 4X4. Also a great tech article on ORD's direct replacement GM14-bolt ff axles modified for 6-bolt lugs.
There are also manufacturer specific tech info pages on Chevy, Ferd, Dodge, etc...
Thanks, again.
