I have an 85 Dodge 4x4 (cad axle).  I want to get rid of the cad axle, I can get some chevy 3/4 ton axles (whole truck) and would like to put them in my Dodge.  My truck has a '78 440 1/2 ton long bed.  I want an 8" lift later.  Any info or opinions.  I have plenty of experience fabing.  

hay man i just wanted to let you know that if you want to put thoes 3/4 ton axxels under your dodge go ahead they will bolt right on you dont have to change anny thing . now if you go to 1 ton u will have to customizz a little for the leaf spring hangers but not much and you will need to get the 1 ton leafs springs to go with them . you can allso youse the tranfer cas off of a chevey the will bolt right on to your dodge transmichtion. i have a 79 dodg short bed on 38.5x15x14.5 superswampers  i dont really remeber how mucch suspenchion lif is on right off hand lol im runnin a grany low 4 speed tranie with a cheve transfer case and and cheve 1 ton axels with 5.13 gear ratio and worner lock outs my moter is in the shed i blew it up in a mud hole last summer its an old 318 if you have anny info on how to get more power out of a 318 and make it to wear it will take more abouse at high rpms please let me know if you need anny dodge part around a 79 i have alote pluse role bares and an alominume dimond plated wich bumper for the front alot of boddy parts and some moter parts hear is my phone number give me a holler if i can help you out with anny thing else or you are lookin for somthing potickular k  (573)358-7359 if im not at home please leave a message and hopfully that will help you some good luck with your truck latter               TAZ SEAD PISS ON FORD
