money issues of course. i can't afford college and body parts, paint, and tires so i'm trying to get what i need for less to hold me over til i graduate. 4 flat ground hawgs don't get me very far.

The 4 Wheel RVT is no longer produced. It was made by Grand Prix/Multi Mile and was available in 33" 36" and 38" sizes but isn't out there any more unless you can find a decent used set. Most I've seen lately have been rotten though. The most similar tire out there is the Ground Hawg as far as wear and style of tread. As far as other off brand 38's There's really not much out there.

Might I suggest trying to find a company over the internet that offers retreads at a discounted price? Not sure about size or anything but you could look into that.

You might try the local tire stores or 4X4 shops for trade-ins or people upgrading to better tires. Sometimes you get lucky and get a decent set of tires with some miles left on 'em. I did that a few years back and got a pretty good set of BFG's with some rally white rims for about $100.00 - 4 tires and 4-rims. They lasted a pretty good while. I was on a very tight budget back then. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Re -treads are crap, and theyre dangerous unless ya got 17 other wheels on your ride in case one blows on the highway. If you don't belive me, just drive down I-95 in Florida, or any other heavily traveled semi truck highway, and count the number of pieces of re-tread you see on the road everywhere. You could fill an entire landfill with all the retread pieces you could pick up just on I-95 in Florida. I had one blow on a truck that was driving right next to me coming up from Miami one day. Talk about crapping your pants! I thought a IED went off on me! Pieces of rubber everywhere! Luckily no one got hurt and no damage, except for having to change my drawers - kidding. We both left some black sqiggley lines on the highway though.
