I have an 01 F250 with only 51k. The OEM ball joints went at 42k, I replaced at the dealer. Now 9k later (14 months later), I need to replace the ball joints again. Has anyone had this same problem? This truck is supposed to be a SUPERDUTY and is used as a daily driver and is not worked. Very limited plowing in the winter...
What do you think?
Are the newer trucks with the spring over suspension in the front any better carrying the load and easier on the ball joints???
HELP!

The first problem is that it's a Ford. Number 2 - "Superduty" is just an emblem on the truck. It means next to nothing. It's the same as trucks that have a decal on the side that say: "Heavy Duty", "4X4", or "Off-Road". If it needs to be said on an emblem, or sticker, it's crap in my opinion. A Suzuki Amigo says "4X4" too.
However, of the emblem reads: "K5" or "K10" - that's enough said!
Ford quality is crap. If you don't belive me, ask all those thousands of poor Americans who just got laid off this week, so Ford can move their plants to Mexico, or some other God forsaken country! That should improve the quality of these vehicles. I would expect the ball-joints to fail after only a few hundred miles on the the new Ford "Superduty" trucks.
- just my opinions.
