I have a 1992 Dakota with a 4inch EZride lift on it.  It has a 3.9 v6 in it and it is not very powerful.  How much work would it be to get a magnum v8 out of a junkyard dogde and stick it in there.  How much do you think it would cost to get it from the junkyard. I'm only 16 so i was hopin some one could help answer these questions for me

well I dont know how much it will cost you, but thats going to be alot of work. Your going to need a new tranny and driveshaft, stronger springs for the front suspension, probably modifications to the front suspension and engine capartment. If you want it a 4x4 you will need a new tranfer case. You are going to have to wire it different changing engines. This aint no easy task, but here is some of the things youll have to do. Good luck with it.

Have you looked into a turbocharger kit for the V6 engine ? I'm not sure if one is available for this model engine, but judging by the expense and trouble for the V8 mod that 'fordf250man' is listing here, you may come out a little cheaper and have the same result in the end - more power. Just a suggestion.

If there is a supercharger kit you could go with that, but if you must have a v8 you should just sell that dakota and get one with a v8.
