My Uncle has a early 90's Bronco 2 with a Manual Tranny and a blown engine. I could get this for about 500 dollars. My question is I was wondering if I could get a 4.0 from a mid to late 90's Ranger into it, Any help would be appreciated.

yes you sure could i had a bronco 2 and put a 302 witch is much bigger then the 4.0 i was going to put the 4.o from my 93 explorer into it becouse its tranny blew up in the mudd but i came across a rebuilt 302 for $600 so i did that insted it was a very frount heavy truck but well worth the power i had to change the man trans and do s0me custom work but do the 4.0 swap and let me know how it works

your best bet would be to go to therangerstation.com they have lots of info on conversions, troubleshooting, and they have some parts diagrams. check out the technical library i think you'll find it useful.

Yes, it will bolt right in, as long as you use the proper computer-I have a 88 bronco 11-james duff suspension-8,8 rear end and a 4.0 OHV motor from a ranger runs like a rocket compared to the 2.9, however new cam, headers, and changed thottle body, motor actually came out of pre-ren truck -and if you have a 89 or 90 you already have the 35 front end and 8.8 rear so your job is cheaper and easier
