What will handle bumpy roads better?

Hey y'all! I might be gettin' a truck this spring and was wondering what y'all might think would handle rough roads better. I'd like a front suspension that has as much up-travel (distance of compression)  and down-travel (distance of rebound) as possible. I'm thinkin' I'd either like a coil-spacer lifted (1 1/4") C1500 or a stock height K1500. I heard rumors that in stock form a 2wd has a better ride travel than a 4x4. Anyone here drove (or ridden in) a coil spacer lifted truck? The truck I've seen is a stock C1500 with 31x10.5"-15 all-terrains.

I'd say go with the K, but I'm kinda biased to the 4wd.  I've never ridden in a spacer lifted truck, and never payed attention to the travel difference.  It does sond plausible though.  The CV axels on the K could be a limiting factor.  Ya know, this sounds like a question for swamphorse.

Of course a 2wd will ride better than a 4wd, and a car will ride better than a pick-up.

With the K1500, your 31x10.50 will fit no problem, no lift required.

sounds like you want a pre-runner, if that's the case i would get the c1500 and a 2" lift with 31x10.5 and let it rip. never rode in a coil spacer lifted truck so i really can't say.  actually i'm biased to the old solid axle fords so i probably can't help much. remember, you can always use 4wd if you get stuck in the k, but you can't in the c. good luck
