I am a Chevy fan from way back, I have owned a '70 vette LT-1 purchased in 1970 and sold in 1975. It was a Ontario Orange coupe with tan interior and no power or air. It had posi and 4 speed and am-fm and that is about all.
I have owne a '55 2 door with 327 in candy apple and a 1960 impala 2dr htdtop with 348 with factory 3 duces, 3 speed with overdrive tranny and 4:11 rear. (the 4:11 worked well with the overdrive).
I owned a 1950 chevy pickup with a '61 engine and 4 speed at one time. And, at 60, I now own a 1993 Cheyenne short and wide 4X4 with 5 speed. I have owned it since 1997 and it is a fine vehicle. About all I have added is a tach, spacer below the throttle body , K&N filter and American mags.
I was writing to tell about something that happened in 1970 or 71. My grandparents lived in a town in the Oklahoma panhandle by the name of Hooker. It was on the Rock Island railroad (the R I no longer exhists). This is a small town and new gets around fast. I heard that there was a train derailment one nite, so I went down to see for my self. This train derailed going thru the small town right by some grain elevators. They were carrying a load of new Camaros. There were brand new Z-28's everywhere. The next day I went down there and picked up Z-28 emblems and caps off the wheels and various debrie from the scene. What happened next shocked me. They brought in bull dosers and dosed out pits and pushed all the cars into them and buried them. I ask why and they said they were toltalled by insurance and that is what someone wanted done! I don't remember how many cars were involved, but it was quite a few brand new Camaro.
The Oklahoma panhandle is a dry place, but I don't know what shape they would be in after this much time or if there would be anything worth while there. Just thot I would pass it on .

Is this a prank where you sit, watch, and laugh at us poor folks go "camaro mining" based on a story on the internet?
Or should I get my shovel and meet you there?
