well, as of recently, i formed the opinion that i should quit buying other people's junk as my treasure, and fix my own.

now i have a truck from my grandfather, a 1990 Dodge Power Ram 3/4, and it's ok, semi-roadworthy, horribly underpowered (more on that later), and ugly as hell.
see about 7 years ago, the transmission behind the stock 360 fuelie went, and the rear end wasn't far behind, so, (and i'm not too knowledgable on this) a 89-92? Dodge 3/4 diesel rear end and auto transmission went in. i have no idea what i have underneath but the rear axle has no abs, so i have manual brakes in the rear, and now manual ABS fronts, biggest problem with this setup however is not strength, but the gearing has killed the tired motor. top out this truck does 110 km/h, on highway tires. it gets about 10 mpg too, which is hard on the wallet. the kicker is that this thing has/had quite a bit of body damage, froma combine backing into it, and an incident with a semi and the driver's door being open as it creeped ahead. needless to say the box side is nice and dented, and the driver's door is a new one that's been in primer for the last 5 years.

so to basically sum up all my nonsense, what should i do with this truck, i'm on a serious budget, and although i'm not scared to pull out the sawall and make fenders disappear, preferably i'd like not to for the time being. the thing has some nice lookign heavy duty mags on it, and has plenty of room for bigger meats.
so, any suggestions?

perhaps i should clamperize my piece.

mr. williams, any suggestions?

remember, if it's not rusty, it ain't deelux

Sounds like you have a pretty good drivetrain already.  Do you know what ring and pinion gears it has? A lower gears and a locker would help give it some get up and go. The slap somemore aggresive tires on and and 'wheel the heck out if it...not like you are worried about body damage.

When you say manual brakes? You mean hydraulic, but no power booster? That would be an easy fix to swap in.

I think you should swap in a 440 out of a ramcharger. Then take a sawzall to the fenders.Put on some 36s and go wheel.
