What do you think the best mud tire is out there?  I like the Ground Hawgs even though they are expensive.

It is a hard call.  My choice of tire is the BFG MT, but that is because it offers the best balance of abilities for how I use my truck.  It seems to me the type of tire needs to match the truck and the driving style of the nut behind the wheel.  For best dedicated mud tire I would go with the boggers.

If I had to choose between a mud tire it would be either the boggers, or firestone makes a tire that looks like a tractor tire but is street legal to 60mph.

The best mud tire to date today is the TSL Bogger. It has been tried and tried and barly ever failed. As long as you don't go over board with the tire size compared to the axle strength it will be great. The Bogger is also a great all around tire[except street:noise]

it all depends on what you want. you want to pick the tire that you think is the best. that way you can tell what the best tire is for you.

Ground hogs are ok tires, but tend to run undersized and wear strange. The boggers are the best but wear very quickly if they are driven on the street at all. Are you looking for the best mud tire for a dd or for a trail rig only?

the best mud tire truly depends on what kind of mud you run. if its is more like clay you will want a bogger or tsl if is more water than mud you will want the irok or tsl

for me the best all around tire I've had is the interco truxus m/t radial, I was a die hard BFG fan untill I bit the bullet and  got a set, they are even quiet on the road, I had to many side wall punctures from the BFG m/t's and the goodyear wrangler m/t's stink in the mud as do the toyo m/t's niether can match the bite that the truxus has.

I have to go with the boggers or tsl's also for strickly mud running but as I said truxus m/t's for all around, they have unbelievable grip on the ice and snow, and rocks also. I live in Oregon so I've been into everything.

Serious mud, boggers are the way to go. The only problem with boggers are they don't last on highway at all. Also they tend to side hill/ slide sideways on muddy hills. If you've never ran a bogger then you've never ran a serious mud tire/DOT approved. Corrected the problem,SXswamper or ground hawg. If running highway the truxux MT a really good snow/ice tire and highway. I like the narrower tire in daily use. Heard good things on the toyo mt they balance well. Ground hawg is the only studdable bigtire out their is ice is a issue. On the guy saying they wear funny is because something is wrong on his truck. Alignment or caster camber issues. Or maybe a shock is dead. many things could affect the wider tire set up. The truxus MT has lots of edges and siping for ice. I believe more than any other tire out their in big tires up to 38".
