Of course it matters.  It's all about the brand, baby!  If we didn't have FORD vs. Chevy debates my F-150 wouldn't have so many notches in its bed pockets.  Half of the awesomely stupid offroading I've seen has come from a Chev trying to outdo a Ford or vice versa.  And even rarely I see a Dodge guy who thinks Mopar is tough enough to crawl in the ring with the big boys, sorry not gonna happen.  

So what I'm trying to say is that without this controversy the continuous evolution of wheelin' stalls and nobody wants that.

i own a 90 toyota p/u and a 91 toyota p/u

both beat fords where ever i go

First off this isn't just  to yo wanna be, this is to all of you. YOU ARE ALL IDIOTS. Now I agree bronco boy doesn't know what the hell he is talking about because chevys don't suck, even I'll admit that, though I like fords ten times better. And to yo wishihadaford there is no way out of two same class trucks, (a ford stock and a toyota stock) that a toyota would come out on top.Maybe if the toyota had $20,000 in extra parts then they would be equal. AS for me and my dads FORD we have been through alot with that and it is stock to the bone. We haven't even come remotely close to getting it stuck. I'm only 14 and I feel I am the only one on this message board who has a clue what he/she knows what he is talking about. And as for the main subject of this message board Ford vs. Chevy I think they are fairly equal but ford has the edge. If you don't beleive me ask yourself why ford f series has been the best selling truck for 25 straight years. Having said ALL that I think I just might be the biggest idiot for writing all this and taking up my time when you all sound so stupid I find it doubtful you can read!  

I have a Chevy, and it has been better than I could ever ask for.  One of my uncles has a Chevy Blazer with over 300k miles.  My other uncle has a Chevy with over 225K.  I do agree that Ford and Chevy out perform/last any of the rice burners, but in my experience, Chevy is better than Ford.  My father owned a Ford when I was younger, and that's how I learned to work on trucks.  The only thing I have done to my Chevy is change the oil, replace the brakes, replace the battery, and add gas.  I think the only reason Ford has out-sold Chevy is that the Ford lovers keep having to buy new ones.  

RSTEW3, You hit the nail on the head. Ford sells more trucks BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEAP!!!! and must be replaced often.

I am a Chevy guy, but I've got to say my next truck will be a Dodge. The new Dodges put both Chevy and Ford to shame.  When will Chevy ditch the IFS (maybe OK for 1/2 ton, but not for 3/4 ton and up) and put a real font end under a truck????? 

What was Ford thinking by bringing it's new F-150 to the game with the least HP (they claim 300HP, but a recent test I read says it is WEAK) in it's class? It got even got SPANKED by the new Nissan Titan.

      I got to tell ya, you really are not that bright. In fact Just plane stupid. FORD, Chevy, and Dodge are all priced about the same. Though the new F-150's are supposed to be 5,000-8,000 more exspensive. And for good reason. Now I'm not going to list all the specs so just watch the commercials. But I will say this the new F-150's reach 80% of their max power at 1,000 RPM's. The engine probably idles at that speed. That is why it doesn't need any more horse power! And guess what unlike you I can prove it. Of any model Ram1500 the max towing/payload is 8350/1510. For the new F-150 it is 8800/2660. Don't beleive me? Go to msn autos. Now that I said that msn doesn't have the specs of towing for some of the modelsof F-150's, but ford claims that max towing is actually 9500! Further more the max torque for the HEMI is 375, Ford is 365. And lets face it IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TORQUE!! So if you have anything else to say about what FORD was thinking only having 300hp then say it. Only this time try to JUSTIFY IT! By the way notice I said (TRY) Another thing answer me this How does it feel to be schooled by a 14 year old? HAHAHA  Just one more thing WHO the hell cares about dodge? I mean come on, you hear of Ford guys and you hear of Chevy guys but DODGE guys never.  Lets get serious here.

getting to the part where you said "Maybe if the toyota had $20,000 in extra parts " thats little more than i have in my 90 toy.  but it does have alot including A chevy 350, a solid axle converson, 6in lift and bfg 35s

the 91 is being worked on now and i am trying to find a way to put a big block chevy in it

and the yo is from the two letters on my tailtage of the 90
