Is there any real good highly active ford 4x4 forums? I have looked on the net for few days and could not find hardly any but the ones I found were not really active forums. I just locked in a buy on a 1985 ford 150 4x4 shortbed with a 300 6 cylinder, manual granny trans. I have not found much info on it anywhere. If you can point me to a great discussion/info forum I would appreciate it.

For a gas engine and a 6 cylinder, the 300 is actually a torque monster with the manual trans. Try to find one with the EFI. They're more reliable and more trustworthy.
