If you really think about it, you will guess who started it.

It must have been some *** Chevy guy!!!

Don't start tracing history on Chevy either it's named after some Frenchie feller with a bow-tie! What's up with that ?

I think 'Ferd' started when the "o" kept falling off the name on the truck in it's early days, so they were "f rd". Several other parts would fall off those trucks as well, I've heared tell.

It must have came from a smart Chevy guy!!!

I remember seeing F rds all of the time with the letter "O" missing in the early days.

I can remember this guy I used to work with and he drove an 80's model Ford F250 4x4. He said he was driving over the Hatem Bridge in Havre De Grace, MD. that crosses over the Susquihana River and his starter fell off the ole Ferd and rolled down the pavement. That was funny as hell when he came in to work and told everyone this.

I WILL NEVER OWN TOYS OR NISSANS BECAUSE I DONT SUPPORT THE *** ITS JUST PLAIN OLD FASHION COMMUNISM TO OWN ANYTHING OTHER THAN AMERICAN PEOPLE NEED TO GET THAT THROUGH THEIR THICK SKULLS
CHEVY PRETTY MUCH DOMINATES ALL MOTORSPORTS WITH THE 350 ENGINE, NOTHING BETTER OR RELIABLE

GOTTA LOVE THE OLD BRAND BATTLE! DO YOU GUYS REALIZE THAT YOUR TRUCKS ARE MADE UP OF COMPONENTS THAT CAME FROM THE SAME COMPANIES, A DANA IS A DANA, FORD, CHEVY OR DODGE, AN NP 205 DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TRUCK ITS IN, ALTHOUGH I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT DODGE HAS THE STRONGEST VERSION, CHEVY THE WEAKEST AND FORD THE MOST COMMON, AS FOR POWERPLANTS IN STOCK FORM , THEY WERE ALL GUTLESS TURDS, I'M A FORD GUY BUT HAVE BLOWN UP MORE FORD ENGINES THAN DODGE, CHEVY'S, CAN'T KEEP THEM TOGETHER NO MATTER WHAT, THE REAL OLD STUFF WAS A LITTLE BETTER ,60'S- 71 ISH,  BUT CONSISTENTLY CHEVY COMES LAST FOR DURABILITY IN THE ENGINE DEPARTMENT, WHEN WE BUY AN OFF BRAND TO WHAT WE ARE USED TO WE BEAT IT HARDER THAN OUR CHERISHED RIDES, THEY FAIL SOONER, PICK WHAT BODY STYLE YOU LIKE AND PUT THE BEST PARTS INTO THAT, SUFFERING WITH POOR QUALITY IS SILLY IF A BETTER PART IS MADE FOR A DIFFERENT BRAND AND WILL IMPROVE YOR RIDE, ALL THIS APPLIES TO THE OLDER TRUCKS OF COURSE, THE NEW TRUCKS ARE JUST GARBAGE, I'VE BROKEN ALL 3 BEFORE LEAVING THE DEALER LOT JUST TO PROVE MY POINT, MY TRUCK DIDN'T BREAK EVEN WITH SOMEONE ELSE TRYING, DOING THE SAME THING THAT BROKE THE NEW PIECE OF ***

Myself I would never go back to a solid axle for my needs. (I do not lift or run big rubber on mine) The ride and handling is superior and if left stock it will take a beating too. When you use tires on them beyond their designed spec's is when you can get into problems with them.

I bought an old 64 f rd from a friend for a not very good deal and I made a trailer out of the bed. The left bedside fell off, the tailgate wouldn't stay latched, the axle shaft of the 9" broke, what does that tell you about a f r ? See what I mean, lost another damn letter on my tailgate! I will stay with the good ol' reliable CHEVROLET.

I am a old GM truck man and have owned many over last 35 years but the Chevy/GM truck is not the truck it used to be and I know that I have bought my last one. They get more "rinky dink" with each model revision.
