I have '96 Cherokee I'm putting a 4.5 ", Rubicon, Rockkrawler or custom lift on.

Two things;

What is the correct P/N for the Bilstein 5150's, since you chose ones that were too long!

If I put togeather a custom 4.5" package, I'll use the following main components, what's your opinion?

  • JKS(Rubber Bushing), TotalChaos(Poly & Heim) or Currie(Johnnie Joint) Upper & Lower Control Arms

  • Old Man Emu 3" Coils with Adj. Spacer to = 4.5"

  • Old Man Emu 3" rear Coils with 1.5' Shackles to = 4.5"

  • Kevin's or JKS Adj. TracBar

I'd go with other springs that were closer to my total lift height, but no one publishes or knows when you call them, what their spring rates are. I want to try and keep a soft spring rate for a better ride.

This will be my 2nd Cherokee, the first was my son's. It's amazing what you learn after your first one. We bought it with a 3" Pro Comp with AAL already installed, that was increased to 4.5" with spacers and shackles. It rode terrible till I found out the shocks were too short, which gave no rebound. Not the best lift, but with new CA bushings and the right length shocks, what a difference.

How about a Tech Article on Major Brand Shock and Spring rates?

Thanks
