Hello ,
I have a friend that has a 79 f-150 that has a bad joint on the steering shaft where it comes out near the fire wall not sure what that joint is called!! I have seen somewhere where you can buy that shaft but can't find it if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,

Your best bet would to replace the whole shaft with a borgason unit your steering will be a lot more responceive and tighter parts are easyer to find also. im not sure where to find the part but i have heard that the joint that you describe is around a $100

Summit will carry the parts u need. They carry the ujoints and the Borgeson shafts with the ujoints as a unit. The ujoints alone are around $70 and the shafts are $200 and up. You would be alot better off if you got the entire shaft from Borgeson, it is well worth the extra money. I noticed a big difference on my CJ5. You can go to Summitracing.com or SummitTruckStyle.com. You can also call them at 1-800-230-3030.

this could be a flex joint or the column coupler available from lmc truck (lmctruck.com) around 95 bucks for the part or you could upgrade to a complete steering shaft. they are made from chrome moly steel. they use needle bearings for a more better response feeling and sealed universal joints to keep them virtually maintenance free. they are also telescoping to suit your needs. prices are about 300-330 depending on the unit.
