Hey there Fellas,

I have a slight problem..... I need to lift My Mitsubihi Montero and there is nothing that I can find. All I want is about 4" worth. The only thing that I can think of is taking off the junky independent front end and converting it to a striaght axle the only thing is $. I bought the thing for $500.00 and is in great condition. I wanted to biuld a budget 4x4 with what i have and don't want to invest a whole lot in cash just in case I roll the thing. I already have 33's and type 51 crawler rims, snorkel and other dodads for the engine but the lift is whats holding me up from going out and playing. I guess thats what I get for getting rid of my Sammie even though it went up in flames. If theres any one that can through me a bone that would be great. Later Craig

hi craig,

i don't even know if he is in business anymore or not but check out Jim Baker performance they are out of Wisconsin. it'll take at least 3'susp. plus a 3'body lift to clear 33's then i'd have my doubts probably be better to go with 31-32 max.

did you try just trimming the fenders till the tires fit?

aint nuthing wrong with a budget 4x4, in fact wheeling on a budget is awesome cuz you just don't care as much about breakage
