I've got a '92 GM z71 off road that has rust from the inside and need to replace the panels around the back wheel wells and the panels behind the front door on the bottom. Can someone give me an estimate on how much these will cost to replace. I've also thought about fiberglass panels.
We've had this truck since new and there is nothing else wrong with it so I want to get them replaced as soon as possible so the truck looks good.
Also how much would a 3-4 in. suspension lift cost for this truck? I want to give the tires some more room and give the truck some more overall clearance, as their isn't much right now.
Looking through the latest issue of 4-wheel & off road and saw an add for Buckshot Maxxis Mudder tires for $110 for the 265/75R-16 which would fit my truck and wondered if they are any good???
Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks,
CJW1500

For the rust I cant help you too much. AS for the lift kits, your best shot is Rancho or Tuff Country if you wnat it cheap. You can check out truckperformance.com or jcwhitney.com for some prices.
I have the maxis ats on the back of my bronco at 32x11.50x15 and they work fine. I dont know much about the MTs though because you cant judge a MT by its AT counterpart. The closest I can tell you is that my buddy had cooper mts on his explorer and they were fine until they wore down to nothing on the road in 11 months but he drives crazy. Gl with your search

for your rust reapir.
if your planning on a lift, bigger tires, you might be money ahead if you put on a set of BUSHWACKER cut out flares. Your looking at about a grand to get that rust repaired, and it most likely will come back.
Just a thought. Onkawboy Keep between the ditche !

For replacement panels, look at www.jcwtruck.com and for the lift, look at the web sites for each major brand of lifts. Skyjacker, Rancho, Tough Country, Pro Comp, Superlift, and Fab Tech. They all have their own pro's and con's. Compair prices with parts lists. Make sure to get a drop pitman arm if you go more than 2 inches. Cheep lift kits have blocks for the rear and more expensive ones have add on leaves. Good luck, and maybe we will see your truck some day in readers rides?
