Has anyone swaped a 1988 3VZ-E V6 engine into a solid axle Toyota pickup? I have a rolled 1988 4Runner with a v6 and a 1985 Xtracab 4x4 pickup and I want to build the truck Toyota never built but should have,v6 power, solid front axle,85 Xtracab body, AC, 4Runner crossover power steering, wide 4Runner rear axle, big 4Runner brakes all around, etc.I want to run 33'-37" tires with a mild spring lift, fender trimming ,a little body lift if I have to and I am willing to move the front axle forward and use a big freakin' hammer to prevent front tire rub when the tires are turned full lock. I want a very stable truck that can crawl the big rocks and run the trails and make it home without breaking or rolling over.I have to be able to drive all day on the hot New Mexico highways and I am not into jumping and "getting big air". I have the complete wiring harness and computers from both trucks. Both trucks came with automatic transmissions and I want to convert to a 5 speed because no one offers low gear options or dual transfer cases for the automatic transmission / t-case. I understand I will have to build custom length drivesafts.I am an electrician by trade and a proficent welder/fabricator. My main concerns are: Is the V6 / automatic computer going to work with a 5 speed tranny? Will the clutch pedal / brake pedal / linkage give me a nightmare? Am I overlooking a major problem somewhere? I would like to use stock Toyota parts as much as possble.Any advice and comments encouraging or not would be welcome. Thanks.

if you've never had the toyota V-6 off road I think you will be highly dissappointed verses the 22re I'm dumping my toy V-6 for a 4.3L vortec. if you really want to do it then be my guest but it's my opinion that you are doing alot of work for nothing.
