HELP! I have a 1993 dodge truck. The front axel will not engage its a model 44-8f the type with a vacume motor. when i put the truck in 4wheel drive the front driveshaft turns, but not the front axels.I checked & replaced the front hubs eventhough they were fine,I replaced the vacume motor on the front axel, checked all the vacume lines running back to the transfer case,& still nothing. there are no noticable sounds or sighns of major components that are broken. I'm trying to determine where to look next.Taking my truck to the local shop is a last resort in fear that they will attempt to replace more than whats needed, well that & being stubborn wanting to fix it myself.......ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER. THANKS.

sorry if this is to late, I just joined the board.
did you check the vac lines at the CAD motor to make sure that you were geting vacume there? there is a vac switch on the T-case that directs the vacume to move the motor, if the switch is bad, you may not be geting eanough vac to move anything.
just a thought,hope it helps,

Check out the 4X4 Posi-Lok, it replaces the vacuum CAD with a cable actuated one. It's probably a little more expensive than just replacing the stock one, but it will last forever and won't fail on you, plus you'll have 2HI, 2LO, 4HI, and 4LO.
