Ok, I made a clutch rod for my dad's truck that was 2 inches longer than stock because of his 2 inch body lift.  Now the clutch makes a loud thump noise when pushed in about 2 or 3 inches from the floor.  After this bump the pedal stays on the floor.  Nothing is binding as far as I can see, but I need some help here.  the truck is a 79 chevy 350 ci, 4wd, 3/4 ton.  thanks!

You'l still need to adjust the clutch linkage to the stock specifications, just because you have a 2" body lift doesn't automatically mean the rod has to be 2" longer, it might be less or more.  Does the pedal return back to the original postion or does it stay on the floor when you let off? If it stays on the floor, do you have the return spring installed? It sounds like the clutch fork is moving too far and that's what is causing the thump.
