Throttle Body Spacer Blues... HELP!

I was wondering if anyone can give me a helping hand so to speak. I just bought a 2002 ford f-150 with a 5.4 liter V-8. I'm a college student and I eventually want to lift it but money is tight right now. I am in the process of building up the motor and dressing up the truck right now. I just bought a throttle body spacer and installed it. torqued the bolts to spec, used gasket sealer on the new gaskets and etc. Now when I open the throttle half way it whissles, only at half throttle. The butterfly is not hitting anything. I doubt it is the gasket seals... what could it be? I'm thinking it is the stock air intake at one if the goofy connections ford uses in their induction system. I am getting an aftermarket intake. If this solves the problem by eliminating the weird connectors that aren't even clamped, I'm good, but if it doesen't... I'm going to have to take the spacer off... The spacer has a "Helix" design that supposedly spins the air going into the motor... could this be the culprit... It seems the noise is coming from one of the connectors though? I can't tell over the fan and engine noise however. Anyone who can help please.

Well, if you think its leaking from a connection try putting some temp, duct tape over them with a tight wrap to defidently seal the gap and give it a run, id say just take it off at the throttle body but you probly have a mass airflow sensor right?? so i would just tape all the joints to be sure that there air tight and if thats not it give the manufacturer of the tbi-spacer a call and ask them if this is normal.

I installed a TBI spacer, "poweraid" was the manufacturers name, in my 92 k1500 chev. I have a whistle at idle, hardly noticeable, but still there. I have no leaks, its the helix design I imagine.

Its the gasket under the throttle body.  its a hellacious air leak.  unbolt the TBI and replace the gasket.  Might be better to use an original gasket not the one thata comes with the spacer.   Trust me.
