LOL! (you thought your drives were long) How long are your longest drives?
I live about 1.5 hrs north of Buffalo, NY and my family loves to drive to Myrtle Beach, SC. Our most favorite way to do it is drive from our house to Raleigh, in central NC in one day and that normally takes 15 hrs. One time we tried it in March, in a snow storm and it took 21 hrs to get to Raleigh. (Everyone in my family would agree we live too far north, lol) Before that, we used to drive to our grandparents winter home in central Florida. We'd drive 12.5 hours to Knoxville TN, then the next morning get up and drive another 12 hours to a town in between Orlando and Daytona Beach. It's pretty neat to see the scenery and temperatures change so dramatically in one day.

I agree with you on the new F150 body styling - petty much an element but crappier since it's a ferd!
My brother had a CJ5 with a V8. It was raised 6-inches and had 44 mudders on it. It was nice, but ubstable as hell. Center of gravity was too high and the wheelbase too narrow. It was rigged this way when he bought it from a dealer. It was a trade in. The first one he test drove with the salesman from the dealer was pretty much the same setup, but he found it had no brakes during the test drive. He got to a traffic light and crawled up this lady's ass in a big buick. Him and the salesman had to climb out onto the lady's roof to get out. Luckily everyone was alright & nobody got hurt. Had his own monster truck crush there for a few. The dealer's insurance covered everythig. He bought the other jeep, needless to say.
To bump down to a new paragraph just hit the 'Enter' key.

Ugh!! I hated Buffalo!! I worked for a company that installed big telephone systems in big hotels. We did the big hotel accross from the convention center, the Holiday Inn Buffalo and a big one on Grand Island in 3-weeks (back to back to back) talk about some work! We got one night off to see Niagara falls and the last night we all went to Canada to a big Steak House up there to feed the entire crew. We all went to Silver Spring MD after that.
Canada was nice but Buff was cold and wet. They had a mild winter until we got there in Feb. It snowed 3-feet the next day! Niagara falls was spooky at midnight. It definately beckons you toward the dropoff. Has that effect on a lot of folks.
I know all about driving. We had to drive from Richmond to Palm Beach (15-hours) with a stop to pick up parts in Savannah. - the good 'ol days!

I haven't done it for a long time, but my girlfriend and I use to hop in my truck and go for 6 to 8 Hour drives in Pa. We would get off of a major roadway and just hit the back roads and check out the scenery and literally get lost. When you don't know the area that your driving in its very easy do get lost and sometimes hard to find your way back to civilization. In Pa. they name there street signs in a weird way on the back roads. Of course we allways find our way home. I'm going to start to take these long drives again.

Sounds like a pretty wild ride with no brakes. I wonder if the salesman had to change his underwear when he got back to the dealership?
Thanks for helping me out with the bump down move.
Like I said before I'm pretty much learning this computer stuff by myself. When I first started using it I got so pissed off I felt like throwing it out of the second floor window.

I belive he did need a drawer change as my brother told it. He was a suit and not a 4X4 guy. Salesmen are a strange breed. Most of 'em will sell their mother down the river for a bag of salted peanuts!
I can relate with the computer stuff - Some folks calls it a 'personal confuser' . I saw a video clip a while back where some guy is in his office gettin frustrated with his computer, he takes it out in the parking lot and sets it up outside. Next you hear a loud 4x4 gettin louder, and then you see a truck run that Microsoft *** down! I wish I could do that some times!

I like the Buffalo Galleria Mall, some of the restaurants and the lower density of urban development around Buffalo and western NY. (compared to here)
Is cold and wet weather the only thing that you hate about Buffalo? Most of eastern Canada is actually just as wet (maybe less snow) and even colder! Except in the middle of summer, Buffalo's actually a few degrees warmer than us. I enjoy the milder Buffalo weather. (lol)
So you saw both falls, the Canadian and American side? Ours is better, since we have the "horse-shoe." (kidding) I'd like to take a hovercraft over the falls, if there could be a way to float it down safely as it free falls! (big grin)
You can get to Palm Beach from Richmond in 15 hours?!? It took 11 hours to drive from Raleigh to Orlando with my friend from NC. I thought Richmond is like 2.5-3 hours north of Raleigh and Palm Beach is 2-3 hours south of Orlando which is why I'm confused.

Yeah, I know about the salesman thing. There's been times when I've gone out to look at a used truck or Jeep and you ask the simplest question about the vehicle and they have no clue on trying to give you an answer. Most salesmen don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
Sometimes I'll be a smart ass and ask a stupid question just to see what kind of answer I get.
'Personal Confuser' That's a good one.

The urban blight and the abandoned factories. It was not a very scenic place. I guess the time of year we were there too made it all the more depressing. And there was a definite 'chemical smell' to the place especially the Holiday Inn on the American side. Somebody told me it's all the chemical polution in the river from years of industry getting rid of their problems in the river. I didn't get used to it the 3 weeks we were there. Grand Island wasn't so bad. I agree that the Canadian Horse shoe falls was more scenic, and the atmosphere, the people and town geared toward tourism was much nicer on the Canadian side in that area. I also went to the Niagara falls museum in Buffalo where they have all the barrels and odd contraptions that people have gone over the falls in - weird! There is something of a hypnotic attracton there that draws you toward the edge of the falls. It reminded me of the island of the Sirens in Homer's epic tale of 'The Odyssey'. How Odyseus had himself lashed to the mast of his ship so he could hear the song of the sirens and not be taken over by their spell.
Re: Richmond to Palm Beach - we were moving pretty fast - and we didn't count the time we stopped in Savannah to pick up parts. We were lucky not to be pulled over by the cops on that trip. We found out the governor on the company truck we were driving was set to 100mph. - ...and don't ask how we know that.
Palm Beach is about 2 1/2 hours north on Orlando - down the Turnpike.

Your right about the salesman thing. I've had more than a few salesmen tell me words to the effect of - "I don't need to know what it does, I just need to sell it" !

I just checked it out a little bit ago. It would be kinda nice to win a brand new Jeep. Don't care too much for the 07' model. I'd take it back and swap it for an 06' model.
As for the ( new model ) I wonder if there talking about a new 4x4 or the new Challenger. I'm not much on Mopar but the concept Challenger car looks kick ass !!

Tht's the only way I'd want a new jeep - is to win one, or be given one as a gift!
I'm not sure what he's talking about either. Salesmen don't make much sense to me.
A little known fact: Do you know how you can tell when a Salesman is lying ? - When his lips are moving.
