i have a scout 80 with a slant 4 and want to put a small block chevy in it i want to use a sm465 and the scout spicer 18 wich i have but dont know what all this swap will take.  any help would be appriciated.  

I've heard of people doing 350 swaps into Scouts before.  A good place to check with would be Advanced Adapters.  Word is that they can make any kind of bell housing to fit any engine tranny combo.  Another place you might check is by going to Jim Weed's IH and Scout homepage.  He has some small block chevy swap info.  His page is www.off-road.com/~jweed/.  Another place you might check is with the Binder Bulletin www.binderbulletin.org.  They usually have some pretty helpful stuff as well and a great message board for Scout owners.  Hope this helps.
