I have a 83 chevy with a 327 (0.030 over) with a sm465 trans and NP205 transfer running back to a gm 14 bolt 10.5 inch rear end. I really need to find an aftermarket shift setup. I don't like linkage for crawling(due to too much twisting) if anyone knows of a good hydraulic setup for this trans (other than hydraulic TO bearing) let me know. Thanks

1988 and up Chevy's have a hydraulic clutch setup, it uses a slave cylinder and a piston to push the clutch fork. No hydraulic throwout bearing to worry about. They are made for the passenger side, but I bet it wouldn't be too hard to fab up a bracket to mount it on the driver's side and add some new hydraulic lines. I don't know if it would work, but it might be worth a shot.
I had a '76 Chevy with a 327 bored .060 over and the SM 465/NP205 combo it was a great truck. The granny gear is great for stump pulling torque and crawling but sucked on the highway.
Good luck.

My 85 Chevy has a factory hydraulic slave cylinder and actuator for the clutch setup. It does not have the hydraulic throw out bearing.
