I'm not sure if there is anything specific to Toyota, but I do know that depending on the size you may have to do some mods to your steering linkage.  Also if you have a fan shroud you're going to need to fabricate some drop brackets to keep it inline with the fan.  Some people just hack it up, but that's the sloppy way and it won't help your vehicle cool as good.

Usually there won't be much if anything that you'll have to modify if you only go with the 1-2" lift, but with a 3" lift more than likely there will be some mods needed.  The fan shroud will be one you'll need to do regardless though.  Just use some 1" flat stock and cut it so that when you mount it to the fan shroud and where it should bolt up to on the core support it'll be centered right around the fan.

Hope this helps some.

well first of all make sure you can body lift the truck begin with.  im a chevy man myself but if toys are anything like other suv's or jeep cherokees then the frame is built into the body and it cant be seaparated.  so make sure you look and see if you have body mounts that seaparate from the frame.

next i have never seen or heard of a body lift kit that didnt come with the drop brakets for the fan shroud.  so your not going to have to fabricate anything.  just bolt the *** on.  the only thing you may have to do is trim the botom of the shroud.

next the fuel filler hose has to be cut in half and the kit supplies a steel 1 or 2 or 3" extension that just clamps right on.

then the braketry also supplied in the kit for the tranny or transfer case depending on what model and if it an auto or man.  performance accessories kits have all this braketry and are the most pop kit out there for bodies.  piece of cake.

The body lift kit that came on my Scout didn't come with dropped bracketry.  The fan shroud was trimmed up just like you suggested.  Bad idea to trim them.  They chip and split and will most likely break in the future.

If you think you're going to have to trim any fan shroud material, then you need longer drop brackets.  If you trim your shroud, then you're limiting it's ability to help cool the engine.  It doesn't take much to fabricate the brackets.  If your body lift kit does come with drop brackets, then use those as a template, but make the ones you need just a bit longer.

yes there is a frame on his truck i just went with one this weekend.

we ended up pulling him out because his barfield broke (its an inclosed ball joint system where a U joint would be) and when they break they are inclosed so the wheel could lock up and it sucks.

if i were you i would just do a Spring Over Axle (SOA). this is cheap and the only thing you have to really do is the work of taking it all apart and then figureing out how to make your steering work again.

and thats not too bad really its free unless you run into a problem the only thing i can think about now it the steering.

there are a few ways to do it also read up on it and see whats best

the best upgrade to your truck is a welder and tourches back at the house. run you like 400-800 bucks buy it right the first time tho get a name brand or try to.

I honestly wouldn't think so-I'm not sure about toyota, but I helped a friend put a 3" body lift on to his '77 chevy and it worked out fine-no extra mods.

If there is a Les Schwab around your area they install those kits for cheap-I think it's around$300 or something.

I say bedone with the fan and put electics fans on won't have to worry about any of the mounting since they mount right to the cooler. But make sure you put a kill switch for them in the cab so if you go into any deep water you can shut them off. If you don't, you'll blow water over your motor and drown it.

Wish I had your problem... Got 3 cars but no garage I have a friend that has a lift, but, I am not sure the brand. I will try and get the make, and model next time I talk to him. But yes I can suggest you to look out for some options available on net. I was told that Auto Body Lift are performance is quite good.
