Well now I have a good stuck to talk about.

Two weeks ago Saturday I was doing a canyon near my house with some freinds. As I was crawling up this small rock waterfall, no water though, about 3-1/2 ft high my jeeps right front tire slid off of a rock. Throughing my pasanger side on the ground. The drivers side front was still on the top of the waterfall. My rear axel, 4 link and leef sprrung, moved forward, bound the drive line, seperating the transfer case from the transmission. All held in now by the skid plate. The engin moved forward enough to put the fan into the radiator. Remember I was 1/4 mile in on a rocky trail. After winching from about 10:30 A.M. untill 5:30 P.M. a frend, my wife and I went home, without my jeep. I pulled a radiator out of a spare car and went to bed. The next morning two friends my wife and I went back. I drove my CJ-5 down the canyon and wenched some of the larger rocks out of the trail so we did not have to winch over them, tiewired the good radiator in and started towing out my broken junk. With 4 of us working from about 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday we finaly got my broken buggy on the trailer.

Now thats what I call wheeling. Now the rebuild.

JEEP---Just Empty Every Pocket.

Lets go play I have another rig to break wile fixing this one.

That's gotta suck when you break your 4x4 in the rocks! Alot of times I'm sure people have to repair their vehicle where it sits and hopefully when they leave to go get the parts that they need, their vehicle is there the way they left it. I've seen it where people have left their 4x4 and somebody has either set it on fire or stripped it. These are the kind of idiots we have in this world.

This was the pic at the lonehickorymudbogs. Even though it's fuzzy, that's still a pretty nice pic.

I've read 4wheeler's Bible too! Maybe twice cover to cover since it was just a library book at the college I used to attend. Why would that be wrong? (kidding)

Just that one time when I hit that log setting just below the water I couldn't see. It stopped me butt-cold!! Had to get it yanked out and take it home on a wrecker. Cracked the frame at the steering box - where they all break, and whacked out the frame. I welded the frame at the box and had the rest of the frame strightened, sort of. The alignment is spot welded in. That beast is semi-retired from the heavy off-road stuff but she's still goin. Ya can't keep a good Chevy truck down for long!

My Ferd Ranger is due for a mud bath. I'll have to be careful not to get stuck in the muck with the little bit of tread that I have left on the tires. I'm going to go to one of my favorite spots to fish, drink, wheel, and relax this weekend in North Eastern Md.

I don't trust anything newer than about '82. Mine's a '77 K5. I've got it through places I never thought I would! Driving skill is half the battle too. Ya gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em - to quote an old & tired cliche'. Call the wrecker when ya fold 'em. - No shame there, it's a learning experience. Just build on it.

You just admitted to owning a Ferd, whats up with that??????? Unless you screwed up and wrote Ferd instead of Chevy.

I hope your not going down that bumpy road again!!!! I hope you screwed up on your writing instead of buying another piece of poo poo Ferd.

It wasn't as fun as for the wheeling part or the fishing part. Not enough mud to play in as the hot ass sun dried everything up.

The fishing sucked too. I only fished for a short time and caught only one or two, but caught a nice little buzz on the brew. This is when I decided to do a little wheeling.

Well, I guess since your in the saddle again, I probalbly won't hear from you for some time.

Have fun working!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, right!!

My buddy in his stock jeep was stuck up to about half way up the door, so i go to pull him out and i dig myself in a hole then break my axle shaft when trying to get myself out. but thats not all, while two-wheelin back out of the trail, my truck overheats. fun stuff

Nah! I had to go back an check if I was on Krak that day. I meant 'if I was you' I'd be puttin a beatin of my Ferd - just for the therapy. The only Ferd I owned was that #%$@&(%  Taurus. and you know that was a load of Bull dung - the name says so! The only other Ferds I'v driven were company trucks (not mine) and I ragged ass on them when I had 'em. I didn't have to pay the bills to fix those duds.

A bad day fishin is the same as an average day driving a Ferd!

Work's on and off again these days. I had to go to paddle out to the second page to find you guys!!  There's a lot of green hands on the first page! - " How do I stuff a 426 hemi into my '76 Chevy Luv truck ??" - types.
