Sounds like you gusy had a bad day ! Those happen from time to time. You just have to learn from it and don't let it get ya down. Stock jeep up to the doors in mud ? What was he thinking ? A Dana-44 axle is good, but not that good. He might want to invest in a good winch if he's going to be doing that.  Where did your axle break ? the ring & pinion gears?

Well my worst stuck was when I broke my gear inside my winch warn 9000. sheared of gear. Had to leave my truck for about a week until I got parts. Snowmobiled back into location in mountains popped my front axle out of frozen creek I dropped into with new winch parts. before winching out had to dig out drifted snow around truck about 4' to 5' deep. It took two days to get my truck back to civilization. Ran out of fuel on way out got dark and snowmobiled back to other truck. It was a toyota and ford. My truck was on 40" hawgs and fully locked up frt/rear and nice 460 ford. I now own twin ramseys 12,000 rear with wide spool and 9000 ramsey frt and snatchblock. I do get stuck a lot in deep snow but playing in some nasty stuff in wyoming. Winches are my savior.

hey red beast my dad, sister, and me all have Chevy trucks!Well i think that my worst stuck ever was when i was eight my dad let me drive his 2002 Chevy 3500 dually.well we were driving on the land and we found this creek that we had never seen before so he sayed to me "floor it" so i did and we got half way throw and the engine started to smoke but i cepte my foot on the gas pedal and after 15 minutes of turning the wheel back and forth i finally got it out of there.after that we were leaving tha property and we have two gates right?so i took the second one and it led to a ditch....welll lets just say that its belly rubbed on the ground and we couldn't go any were.so we got my dads friends semi hocked up and he floored it and i floored it and he was just siting there burnen rubber but remember we also had a triple axle goosneck trailer hooked up soo that wade us down like 7,000 pounds.well we finally got a mobile crane and he lifted our hay filled trailer on to the road and then our truck on to the road.so we hooked up to the trailer and lets just say he hasn't let me drive the truck ever since.heres recent pictures of the trucks except for the crane.it also show our trailer.

My worse stuck happen after I had just finished fixing my rear window in my 1995 Pathfinder.I then proced to tear up the grass in my front yard and getting hay wrapped around my drive shaft. After cutting the grass off(i couldnt drive it when the grass was so thick it sounded like it was about to drop the tranny. It was banging like hell. After that i decided to go hill climbing behind my house. I go to my hill at adout 90 mph and stop. After looking at it for a second time i'm like maybe not.I go to do a donut(where Im from we call them shittys) and I nose down in to the ditch on the up hill side.I shift in to Reverse and my rear tires just spin.I pop it in 4lo and4hi to thesame effect(althouh I did get a face full of loose gravel. So I'm like the hell with it i'll climb the thing. I pop it in drive take the od off and hit the little button on the side.Iget down and start to cloimb just fine then my bumper gets hung up. I spin then turn the wheel to the left.the pathy bounces out of the ditch. Not much of a stuck story is it?But let me tell you that after I got back home I see that my bumper was facing the sky. After a rather long story of how the tall grass must of forced it up I was in the claer with the rule that i shoul drive my truck in the long grass. That it unless you want to hear about a chevy AVE...

I just recalled the worst stuck I even had by far. It was not in a 4x4 thought, it was in a 7 ton backhoe about 23 years ago. I was clearing some land out back on property that I had bought the year before and was on some ground that I thought was fine. It turns out it was some hard dry crust that was hard to walk on and held backhoe up fine at first over several feet of fine muddy slit feed by a spring. It was hard and dry on top and had not rained for few weeks too. Well to make a long story short, the backhoe broke through and in a matter of but a few minutes the front tires were sunk below ground level and the rear tires were over have buried and the backhoe was resting on its chassis which was sunk in mud too. It was a really nasty problem. Normally with a backhoe you can dig/push and skid your way out using loader and boom but they was no firm bottom within loaders reach and in back you could get a bite down several feet but you could not drag the buried front axle. After messing with it a bit I decided on a new angle of attack. I located several railroad ties and put a few down under front loader to use to lift and hold front end out of mire. Then I preceded to lift up rear with hoe and drag it a few fed with front bucket skidding on railroad ties while hold front tires free of muck. It took about a hour of skidding backhoe on ties that were added to path for front bucket to skid on to get it to firm ground. Some ties were reused and some were lost and never recovered to this day. Later that fall I dug a creek trench in the area from firmer ground with a backhoe to drain water from silt and the following spring I got a dozer and built a creek through the area and problem never returned. It seems there was a creek there once long ago that have filled in with silt. Nearly got a 18 ton CAT 955 track loader stuck once too. That would have been a nightmare. Lucky I managed to get it out quickly before it became a lost cause with a little finesse. If it had bit the bullet I do not think even a semi wrecker would have gotten it out. Tracked loaders and dozers usually need something much bigger and heavier than themselves to extract them when they get mired.

I'd call that a good stuck snoman..

dtv, yeah my 7 year old drives the rubi alot on the property and on some trails near home we play on. and my oldest is gonna be 14 in a few months, he drives most of the rime after we reach our network of trail. the pic was taken on april 27th this year. besides being stuck the engine was stalled from the deep water, the dodge got drug a few feet before the rubi started to move.

My only stuck so far was the day after I bought a back road map book. I was trying to see how accurate the map book was when I came across a trail that wasn't in the book....I wanted to try to add it to the map and it started easy enough, following hydro poles with just 1 line on them. Torrential rain and all the windows fogged up in my '84 Chevy K30 1ton, can't see a thing, followed the hydro line till it went down a 50 degree slope, slid and bounced alot of the way down, came to a swamp and while driving almost 1000' through I came to a creek. I saw water lilies growing on the side of the trail leading to the creek and though,"jeeze water lilies like growing in deep water, well I come this far, might as well try it." Dipped my front 35" maxxis bighorns into it and when I hit the creekbed I could see water coming up the front of the hood. Well, with a bone stock 1 ton with 35' tires and no snorkel, I decided to back out of the creek and try to back out. Whats the morale of the story? Never try to turn around in a swamp when your windows are foggy. The pic is the result and thats the last I saw of it till the next day. Turns out, I broke 2 body mounts twisting the frame to get out and a fan shroud when they went. Oh yeah!!! Almost forgot to mention.....My best friends Ford Pulled me out...

the first day i had my brand new drivers license and my truck on the road. me and a buddy decided to go see what the mud was like behind another buddies house. truck was a 1/2 1978 chevy with 38" tsl and 8 inches of lift. we were having a good time and going through all the mud holes that were back there. nothing was real deep. it was just a shallow creek with mud all around it. well my buddy was determined to get me in to some deep mud and wanted to go throught were they bog the dirt bikes. so i went through it with no problem. well there was no place to turn around on the other side. so i backed up through the hole and tried to turn around to leave. well when i backed up i wedged the truck in between two trees. and it was soft enough when i tried to rock back and forth i just sank. we didn't have a cell phone and the guys house we were at wasn't home. so we walked down to the neighbors house and asked him to pull me out. he didn't have a truck big enough to even think about moving me. so he grabbed a come along and a chain saw. cut the smallest tree down and me and my buddy hand winched my truck out of the hole i was in. the truck sank to the bottom of the cab. the 38's were gone. took three hours of pulling on the truck to finally get it out. needless to say i have never gone four wheeling with only one truck again.
