Hey, I'm looking at purchasing some used Military Chevy 1 ton axles.

I want to put them in my 87 k10. My questions are, can i fit 15 inch wheels over the 1 ton brakes (D60 and 14blt)? And does any one make a disc brake conversion for the 14 bolt rear? Also, will i have to take the 1 ton master cylinder?

No your not going to be able to fit the brakes over the drums because they are 13 inch drums.  i just did the same thing and i had to buy a 16.5 inch wheel.  also the front brake calipers are a lot larger.  One thing you may be ablr to do is unblot the backing plate from the brake drum and swap it out for an 11 inch one or the one you have.  its also going to depend on what type of parking brake cable you have on your truck now cause you might have a different style than those on the 13 inch drum backing plate.  for all the info you need on the 14 bolt go to www.pirate4x4.com and go into the 14 bolt tech info page, there is a step by step detailing coverting the rears to disc brakes and where to buy the materials.  also all the ratios and break down procedures for that axle.

I know I'm conflicting a little with the other post on this , but I did put 15" rims over a 14bolt ( 8 lug, full floating) and a 8 lug  dana 44 front.  I don't know if it had 11" or 13" rear brakes, but it fit fine.

The front also fit with the proper offset rims and a little bit of smoothing of the top of the caliper but that was a Dana 44 , not a Dana 60.   I don't think 15" will fit over Dana 60 front brakes so you will be stuck with 16.5 anyway.   And unless you really have a nice set of 15" tires, you will need to buy 15" 8 lug rims which will add more cost.

we got 15s on our blazer (14ff rear 60 front) some machine work at best but it does work, we made our own disk brakes for the 14bolt.

used a 10 bolts disks and assembly, its about a true days work and well worth it.
