HEY,IM A CHEVY GUY BUT I GOT A 78 POWERWAGN W/ 440-727AUTO AND FULL TIME 4X4 W/ FACTORY FIBERGLASS NOSE FOR A RUSTED UP BROKEN REAR DIFF 2500 4X4 6.2 POWERED SUBURBAN. MY QUESTION IS. WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CARB THAT I CAN RUN ON THE MOPAR? MINE IS JUNK AND ITS A HOLLEY. THE ENGINE HAS A TOW/RV CAM, STOCK INTAKE, 2.25 INCH DUALS, 2500STAHL AND A B&M CONVERTER AND KIT IN THE TRANS. IM NOT SURE OF THE GEARING, BECAUSE THE CARB IS JUNK AND WILL ONLY IDLE, ACCEEL. PUMP BAD.

with`a big block i wouldnt go any less than a 750cfm carter or edlebrock style never had any luck with a holley on the trail.they bounce and stumble bad. i gotta little project going with a power wagon my self got a 5.9 cummin`s sitting in it now need to finish up little stuff on it and the tires be ready to go.but a 750. carb should do all you need

Then you have never tried a holley truck avenger which was made for offroading.

been there done that with the truck avanger low fuel setting in the bowl just sloshed less fuel out. no big increase in anything there with that one.i the first too admit holley is it for pure power on the street but aint that hot in the dirt.to each his on

I'm with ya on the holleys. Killer on the street, but not so hot in the whopti-do's
I think Carter is Edelbrock now. I believe they were bought out. Carter AFB's are great! I had one on my big off-shore boat. Never had a hiccup in any sea condition. Worst I went out in was 10-ft seas on my 25 footer - the AFB got us home every time. If you drop a bait or fishing weight in anything above 5-feet you might as well forget it - the whole world is in motion and you will probably just make yourself sick with all the counter motion trying to pick it up.
Rochester Quadrajets are pretty butlletproof too in my opinion, but I don't know their record in off-road. They are good off-shore carbs too. When your'e out 30 miles off shore you need something reliable to get you back! I think Rochester was bought out by someone else too - if I'm not mistaken.
