I would like to swap a Volkswagen TDI engine into my 62 CJ-5, Does anyone have the bellhousing measurments for VW's 8 valve engines? To my understanding the 8 valve and all diesel blocks interchange.

I once found a webpage where someone swaped a 6cyl turbo diesel Volvo engine into a CJ-7 using clutch disk from an 83 4cyl Jeep, and the Volvo bell.

I think it should be a good match for the light CJ-5, The original engine was 75HP@4000 rpm and the TDI is 90hp@4000 rpm plus a load more torque. If I'm lucky I should get 30MPG as I get 47MPG in the Passat.
