Hey folks,
Just bought a 92 F-150 4X4 with 300 6-cyl, auto, heavey duty suspensoin, no lift though. Was a Navy truck a used car lot bought at a goverment auction. Not sure on my axle ratio, is there anywhere on the web I can check the ratio by my VIN number? Anyway my main question is which tire would ya'll recomend. My usage will be daily driver, with mud and trail rides fairly regular. I want to keep my on road manners nice, but be able to wheel to. The two tires I'm looking at are the Super Swamper LTB 31X11>50X15. and the Buckshot Maxis Mudder 32X11.50X15, for my usage which would be better. Thanks for any input.

Hey Clyde! In 4wheel &Offroad's tech articles it tested many of the popular mud tires. The best was the "Bogger," though it is a little impractial on the street and the next best was the "Super Swamper -SSR." This here's a radial tire with sipping in the tread for wet roads. I'd check out the SSR's if I were you. The seem to be the best street-worthy mud tire.

is the maxis mudder a radial if so it may be better on the road the ltb swamper will not be as good on the road if you drive fast but will be better off road. If like me and just drive to work and home and out to play (go off in wifes car) get the swampers

Hey! Personal i havent seen the super swamper's but friend has a set of Maxxis Mudders and he loves them. They handle very well on road for a mud tire and he can go any where in the mud that he wants.

I agree with ron... Putting safty first, the swampers sound like a plan. They are most popular out here in calif. Good with off road and on.
Look nice too.

Have 2 friends w/ buckshot's!! those tires go and go off road and are pretty good on road too.... the BF Goodrich MT's are also an awsome tire,, pretty good treadware, goes good in 'tha mud, and don't make a lot of noise on tha road.. i'd check them out as well!!
