I am looking to put a set of 15's on my 92 k1500. I have seen it done a million times and have heard a million different answers on what backspacing on a 15x8 rim is required to clear that great big nut on the bottom of the lower balljoint???
Anyone running 15x8's on you 88-98 k1500 please let me know your rim backspacing!!!
....and no i cant go to my local rim shop to try em out, there is no local rim shop.

I have 35" ProComp X terrains mounted on 15X10 Eagle 589 from 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers on my 1995 K1500. Not sure of the back spacing though...Give 4WPW a call and see if they can help...If not next time I pull of a wheel, I can measure it for you.

Hey man, a quick measurement would be awesome, everytime i talk to rim guys, they give me a different number for the max backspace before interference.
I have heard 3.5" to 4.5" to 5"......that makes a big difference on balljoint wear!

Eagle 589 15X10 rims with 3.5" backspacing is what I have with 35X12.5-15 Pro Comp Xterrains. Just barely clears the big nut on the lower ball joint. The wheel/tire combo just barely sticks out from the fender an inch or 2 and they look really good. I got a package deal from 4Wheel Parts Wholesalers in OCT 2001. I highly recommend the Xterrains! The are very quiet on the street, go like gangbusters off road, and wear like iron (almost 3 years old and about 50K miles) and still have more than 1/4" of tread left. I thought I might get 2 years and about 30K miles out if them, but I have been really impressed with the both the on and off road performance.
