I own a 2000 Dodge 2500 with the Cummins diesel engine. While replacing the fuel filter this week, I cracked the plastic fuel filter cover when removing it. It appeared that the last person who changed it put some sort of glue in it. The cap is manufactured by Fleetguard and the closest dealer is two hours away. I can easily squirt some epoxy in the top of the filter and have it fixed. Will expoxy break down after a long term exposure to diesel fuel? Is there any other sealants that would work for my application? Thank you for any suggestions.
Seems like every time I try and save a buck by doing maintanance or repairs at home, I end up costing myself $100. I just give up!
