Hi my name is Ryan and i am 18, i have been into the 4x4 scene ever since i took my dads suburban on the trail. i have recently saved up some cash and am looking for my first truck. i have been looking at a late model ford ranger. particularly a 90-94 ford ranger with the 4.0l v6 and a 5 speed. i was planning on putting a 6 inch lift and 33 inch tires on it. i was wondering what everyone thinks of this truck and if you guys could help me decide what lifet system, tires and rims i should put on it. my budget is pretty tight. so if u guys could give me some feedback and some suggestions that would be great. thanks alot.

hey, I just got a 90 bronco as my first 4x4 and i have to warn you that early ford trucks are going to give you some problems. Watch the power steering and starters. As for what you plan on, with a 6" lift I'd go with Rancho or ProComp. As for your tires and rims, I'd go with 35s rather than 33s. 33s you'll have a whole lotta space but since you have a tight budget like me I suggest going to Desertrat.com They have some crazy good deals on tires and rims (one in particular with goodyear and us wheel). Hope I helped somewhat.

Hey depending on what kind of wheeling you plan on doing, I would ditch the Ranger and get a Toyota. Any straight axle toy will do, and youre not going to spend an arm and a leg. A fuel injected 22R is fairly good on gas. An early 80 toy with a 6 inch lift and 35's with the right gears will get you anywhere. Good luck with you truck....... Happy wheeling.
