Hey everyone, I just got rid of my 1990 Bronco and I'm looking for another 4x4. Was really looking for a Chevy Silverado 1500-2500, F-150 or 250, or a late 90's Dodge Ram V-10. For the trails and stuff I go on it needs to be able to climb hills well, get through some pretty thick mud, and not kill anything when I hit this one hill at 20mph and catch like 8' of air. Which of these trucks can handle all that and look decent driving down A1A to pick up the surfing chick! Any suggestions are appreciated, and if I left out a good truck or suv let me know,
Thanks

K, I narrowed it down to the never ending debate. ITs going to be either an F-series or a Chevy Silverado. I read the pros and cons, the stats and features and of course the availibility of parts. What does anyone else think.... F-150 or F-250 Super Duty vs Silverado 1500 or2500 HD?

WAZ UP! I have to say I'm into the Dodge. You mentioned a V-10 so that would mean a 2500 at least. I have one, a 2001, and I do have to say as a former Ford owner, it rocks over the Ford. I will say my Ford was an older '89 F-250 w/ a 460 and 6" lift etc. and the motor kicked butt, but the ride and handling just sucked. The drivetrain was fine in back and questionable in front, and I liked the looks, but when it came to the Dodge, the off and on road performance was night and day. The easiest things to mention are: 1. The axles are a Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear, SUPER WAMMY! 2. Coil springs in front and long leaves in the rear, this gives a cush ride as well as great articulation. 3. The motor sucks gas, but the low end torque as well as the horsepower for such a conservative engine is right on as well as the auto and manual trannys available are pretty solid! These are just minute details that catch an eye first when looking. But whatever you choose, good luck and wheel on brother!
