I own a 81 chevy k10 and am wondering what the max width of a tire i can run. is there a benifit to running a wider tire? i have 6 inches of lift and do not have crossover steering. im just wondering if i get a tire like the tsl super swampers 15x35x15 will they be rubbing on my drag link. thx.

...Don't know if they'll fit, but say you have two 35" tall tires. One tire is 12.5" wide, another is 15.5" wide. The wider tire will flex less with a given load or pressure increasing your ground clearance, but even though it's flexing less vertically, it'll still give you a soft ride. Like if you need say 7" diff clearance and can get it with the 12.5's at 20psi. With the 15.5's you can prolly get the same 7" clearance at 15-16psi. Your ride'll feel like the 12.5's at 15-16psi, but with better clearance.

the benefit of wider tires is a cool look and more rubber to grab  traction offroad. but they're heavier and put more stress on wheel bearings and steering components.  don't buy a tire that wide unless you need it for offroad performance or 12.50's look like pizza cutters under you're truck.
