I recently bought a '77 ford f-250 highboy with a 460 and stock running gear and drivetrain. It has the stock 4 inch lift. Do I need a new ring and pinion gear and do I need more lift to run 38's? If so how much more lift and what gearing do you recomend?

Sorry, I was at work... Here's the translation for my boyfriend's attempt.  3" body lift should be enough to clear the tires, and if you have a granny 4 speed with stock 350 gears you'll be fine.  But with an automatic tranny, I would say you would need at least 4.11 or 4.56 gears.  We live in the south, we mostly just mud and no rock climbing/trail riding.  I hope I helped.  Good luck

get some 6" springs first and see if they fit. that truck should already have 4.11 gears but for tires this large i would look into at least 4.56 if not 4.88's

what type of wheeling are you doing?
