Help! i just picked up a 1973 jeep j10 4x4, and need help identifying my components. I know we have a 360 2bbl, 3 speed on floor, selectable transfer case. I do not know what transmission I have, differentials, or transfer case. I do have warn locking hubs and drum brakes. Any info would be a great help. Vin #j3f262xn08026 Thanks

Dana model 20 transfer case, most likely the t-18 transfer case, I'm not sure but I think you'r vin # you gave is'nt correct or you'r jeep is too old to search. I was looking for your' axle's . I'll keep an ear out and good luck

Thank you. That is what is on the title as far as the vin goes. I know for a fact she is a 73. I was hoping to get info from Mr. Pe'we' on the DED jeep they used. These things are getting hard to find parts for. It is a 5 lug set up, will CJ headers work on a J10? I am new to jeeps. Thanks for your help. RogerB

Are you sure it is a J-10?  I had a 73 and it was a J-4000, slightly different from the J-10s.  My understanding is that the J-10s came out in 74.

Interesting, I do not know.  Maybe I could get some pictures taken and sent out. This may be of no importance, but I noticed on the J10's on Ebay the transfer case shifter is to the left of the tranny shifter. On mine it is opposite. Like I said, I am new to Jeeps and I appreciate the help I am receiving. I would love to come to Moab and watch one of your events. being a self employed Disc Jockey, the only vacations I get are working road trips. Maybe ........ Roger B.
