I saw a CJ 7 body tub for sale today and that got me to thinking...  I had a CJ in college and then a TJ in '98.  I would like to marry the two into the perfect Jeep.  I'd like your help in figuring out what I'd need to do this and what the project would entail.  I liked the size and look of the CJ, but the ride of the TJ was much better.  I just could get over how small the TJ felt.  So, I'm think that maybe the hybrid Advanced Frame Works frame might be the answer.  Depending on the TJ donors available, I might be looking at using the current 4.0 engine and 5 spd along with the running gear.  Give me your opinions on this route as opposed to buying aftermarket suspension and going completely custom with the engine and transmission.  My "must haves" are the CJ body, decent size tires and A/C (a must in Texas).  I'm probably underestimating the scope of such a project, any input will help.

Thanks.

it shouldnt be that hard i have done a couple of wrangler tubs on to cj s i know the mounts arnt exactly the same on new frames to match the cj tub but all you would need to do is cut off the body mounts from the frame and re weld them in the right places now as far running all your linkages that is a whole nother problem your talking about alot of small little customization things that are gonna add up it might just be easier to switch out the front fenders and grille and hood to give you the cj look.

I would contact JP off road or Advanced frame works about your idea they can supply the body and frame, and help you fiugre out the costs of what you want to do to make the ultimate cj
