hey i have 2 questions for any Ford technicians out there...

i am a college student that is working on a apprentireship kinda thing.. the guy i work a long with keeps asking me questions about two things and i dont no the 100% reason for them doing it..

k the first question is on newer crown victorias why is there only one fuel line?

the second one is..... on 05' mustangs and newer y do they have two fuel pumps....i think the reason for the two fuel pumps is that the tank is split by the driveshaft.

all the help that you can give i would really really appreciate it.

thank you all....

I know on some fords they use an in-tank pump to feed the pressure pump along the framerail, not sure if thats the case w/ the mustangs though. As fare as the single fuel line, does it have some kind of return or waste hose, there has to somewhere for the leftover fuel to go...right?

hey i appreciate the help..

but ya there is only one fuel line that goes to the engine.. no return or anything. damn fords dont make sense.     i know that there is some kind of regulator in the pump but i am not really sure how the whole system works.. that is what i am looking for help with... how the hell does it work?????

and on the mustang.. the tank has two low spots on each side of the drive shaft so that i why i believe that it has 2 fuel pumps but i am not completely sure.. and i am not getting any answer from my so called  "mentor" which really sucks....... but the good thing is that i am a chevy guy the way it is..... CHEVY ALL THE WAY

well thanks for help i really appreciate.

I hate to piss on your parade but isnt ford the one downsizing this year? and I believe Chevy just took the truck sales leader this year. Just looking what I have heard. But hey GMC= God Made Chevy. I would also like to thank ford for circling the problem...

yeah and chevy for wrapping it with a boe on top.  while ford maybe downsizing chevy is about ready to file for a bankruptcy as for what chapter exactly I'm not sure, but it will probably just be filing a reorganizational bankruptcy so that they can get the money to payer their debts.

Ford = Found on Road Dead

Backwards it's - Driver Returns On Foot

Either way It's bad news for GM and Ford both of 'em may meet at the bottom of the financial cliff. The only people making any money these days are the 'Rice Burners' Personally, I'd rather eat #### than drive a *** truck.

I know how you feel! My kid was an auto mechanic for several new car dealers in a major city. Watch out for some of those newer luxury cars with high-end suspension! If you put it on a lift without shutting off the little switch in the glove compartment it blows out the entire suspension system!! ..and guess who's pocket this repair is going to come out of ?? It's way too much of a rat race with the mechanic who loves working on cars and trucks getting screwed financially to the point they just get out of the business like my kid did. There are a few other moron-designed products out there that will set you back financially if you don't ask an experienced mechanic in your shop before you try to figure it out yourself.

Ford just plain sucks. There, I said it!! New ford mustang and t-birds 'just got no soul'. Ford engineers just don't get it!. People who want a retro styled car don't want a Taurus type frame with some mild plastic body panels that sort of look like ( if you cross yer eyes) the one that used to get your heart racing years back. Friend of mine just bought a brand new Ford F350 truck. Everythin's square on it! Even the side mirrors! And it looks like someone took a sawsall to one of the their big vans and just cut the top half off of it. It's just butt-ugly to me! The color he got bites too (monkey-poop brown with a hint of gold). I told him he should just have bought an 'Element' and be done with it.  I remember seein a commercial for Ford pickup truck a while back - It went on about the high tensile strength of the bolts that hold the bed on the frame! - What the F###k ????  If that's the best feature on it, I'll just buy the Grade-8 bolts and take them to the Chevy dealer!! The only ford product I like is the GT-40. Now that's a car! They finally got one right! - but ya know what they say, "a stopped clock is right twice a day" !

I agree the newer Fords look ugly, but IMHO all new trucks and cars look ugly too! (besides a few cool cars like vettes and other sports cars)

None of them have rain gutters. None of them have bumpers made entirely of metal front and rear. (hate the fascia crap) Many of them have blob like styling. Also hate new vehicles that automatically lock your doors when you shift into drive, or have bells that go off while not wearing a seat belt. (what if you're only driving around a farm? I don't think a seat belt is needed then) And I hate the big rims with low profile tires all new trucks have, even 4x4's. What good are bling bling big rims and low profile tires for a work vehicle?

For style, I love GM's from 1998 and earlier, Ford's from 1996 and earlier and Dodge's 2000 and earlier. And nothin looks finer than the trucks made anytime before the 1980's IMHO.
