I want to get a new vortec V8 and 4l60e into my 71 Bronco, but seem to be coming up short on resources to even get an older chevy V8 in.  All help would be appreciated.

I'll save you the trouble, don't do it. I am kind of partial to a nice built 302 or 400m for a bronco. Is yours fullsize or international Scout style? If it is scout style go with a 302, easy on gas and powerful. If you are dealing with a fullsize Bronco go the 400 modified route. You will have less problems, and I don't see anything that could be gained from going chevy powered. That was hard to say being that I am a Bowtie freak myself.

I agree if you got ford dont go puttin a chevy motor in it. the 302 is great 351w pr 351m or go big block 352 or 460 stay ford. Id go eather mild built 302 or 351w,

I second the motion, it'll be a whole lot easier to make Ford stuff fit. If you really want it, I'm sure it can be done, but I'd reccommed you build a nice 351W to slide between the frame rails. Stcik with Ford parts, you'll be money and time ahead.

And I'm not just saying that 'cause I'm a Chevy guy...
