Hey all
A buddy of mine has a 89 or 90 chev 350 TBI that is acting wierd....heres the symtoms:
It will fire up and run great until the motor warms up to tempature and then it stall for no reason and will not start again.
Once it cools down it will go again.
Any diagnosis or comment?

could be vapor locked. check the tank vent lines. it could also be a back engine ground. but my bet is on it having a bad pick-up coil in the distributor, also check the ignition module. this is a famous problem for the hei distributor. when the electronics in this little unit get hot the engine will die and not start until it cools back down.

I got beat to the punch! I had the same problem with a 350ci / factory Hei ignition. After about 3 trips to the mechanic, and no idea there, I finally changed the hei coil and never had a problem again. It would just die on the highway and I'd have to coast to a stop. Once it cooled off it ran like nothing was wrong. Weird problem for a while there.

Ya it is wierd, I will start the process of elimination starting with the hei coil and see what happens, and if that don't work I'll try the rest.
Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
