yeah, most metropolitan areas try to follow the high standards set in cali. i used to live near portland, or so i was stuck there. i thought it would be easier in az, but it's not. don't know why. it's in the middle of the F-ing desert. i'm sure i can pass the sniffer but when they start looking for cats, egr valves, stock filler necks and gas caps my jeep just doesn't cut it.

You should try Apache Junction.  From what I've heard their smog restrictions aren't very stringent.

i was gonna register it at my buddie's place in black canyon but he just moved to el mirage. if they only sniff the pipes i should be ok. if they inspect, i'm screwed. gas tank being the biggest issue.
