Watch out where the Huskys go, don't you eat that yellow snow!!! (Frank Zappa)
That post in Four Wheeler about the Chevy Luv was just a joke Dude!! I just wanted to see what kind of responce I'd get from the Snomam.
Also the message that I posted to him in the(Oiled Air Intake Thread) he still hasn't answered it because he knows that I'm right about what he wrote and he's wrong. He still may answer it eventually.
You said it was pointless to eat korn, and you call yourself a korn fed hick??

From the looks of it, looks like you found yourself a new buddy from Four Wheeler (The Sno-Bowl-Man).
In someways, he can be ok, but other times I just don't know? He can be smart about (certain) things, but there's alot of other things that he seems to not have any or enough knowledge on. I believe he searches the web to get most of the answers to peoples questions.
He still hasn't answered my message to him about the Flowmaster exhaust that he put on his Burb.

I knowd you wuz goofin on the Chevy Luv thing! Why'd you think I said only teen-aged girls drive those rides ? Haha!
My plan with the bowl-man is "If you can't dazzle with brilliance, then baffle with *** "!! I think we baffled him dude! he's speechless!

Nah! I just humor him. I try to get info on things from anywhere I can and balance the info I do get. Sometimes you have to consider the source.
I still haven't got much info on the Cams question from any forum I've been to. I got some from the 'Chevy high performace' site, but those guys are wound up too tight, and if you haven't already built up your engine to a 1000 hp beast, guys like me asking stupid basic questions are like a five year old asking you where babies come from.
I try not to judge anyone, or put on airs based on their questions. We all have to start somewhere to become expert at something. I try to help folks whenever possible with the things I've learned from my experiences with trucks, boats, engines, and women. - That last slippery subject is the most difficult to master, although I've had pretty good success over the years. Cams however, are a mystery to me - they are rigid, cold, emotionless, and prone to fits of torquiness.

Did you ever get your fat head under your truck to measure the frame?
Who you calling fat bastard? Haha -I'm not that fat, just from the waist up. I guess its from the beer and my bad eating habits. I work at night and when I come home in the morning I'm freakin hungry, and then of course I go to bed and I guess some of it turns to fat. It's a bad habit that is very hard to break!!!!!! I'm definately not going to quit drinking beer, bourbon and rum.
I'm going to finally change my oil, wash my filthy truck and fix my leaky third brake light this weekend. I've put it off long enuff. I guess while I'm underwear, I'll measure my frame too.

Not yet dude! The dark comes way too fast after this time change. I'll get it done this weekend fo sho and get back to ya. It would surprise me if the Ranger's wheel base is narrower than these stupid S-10's! I know we could probably find this info on-line without getting all greazy or getting my fat head stuck under this toy.
I was refering to the 'fat bastard' character in the Austin Powers movies. I guess you haven't seen that one yet. 'Foxy Cleopatra' is worth watchin the movie just by herself.

Hello 4x4Ranger and redbeast! How's it going?
59 F in South Florida in October?!? (or was it November?) Was that an overnight low or was it still light out? That does sound pretty chilly for there.
I've stayed in instead of fishing because of wind, but that was because the wind was cold. I don't appreciate a stong breeze below 65 F, but above it, wind can be fun.
I've been working at more refineries, but lately in a different town; Sarnia, ON. That's about 3 hours west and an hour north of Detroit. I still don't have a truck, but for work they've been letting me drive a 2002 (still the older body style) Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 with a diesel. It's neat climbing up into it with the cab floor more than 2 feet off the ground. Maybe I'll try out the 4wd before I return it.
I liked reading about Snoma'am (Snowman). *grin* Feel free to copy one of his posts, or maybe if I get bored I'll go check it out myself.

Is the truth finally coming out? In a post to the Snoman, you said that you drove a Chevy Luv alot. Sounds to me like you may have owned one, (not that there is anything wrong with that). I just put that in because I remember Jerry Seinfeld said that on Seinfeld.
I thought you never went by what a vehicle was rated at? (Toyota)
You are of the same mind as the Snoman????

How have you been doing? Haven't heard much from you lately. Must be working alot.
Here in MD., it has been in the upper 60's for the past couple of days. Today (Friday) it was 70 degrees and I love it!!
I haven't been fishing much lately. I don't care for windy days, period, unless its on a hot day, but you know how that goes its never windy on a hot and humid day.
If it were me, I'd take the ole Dodge out and put her in 4wd and do some light wheeling with it. Just don't do anything crazy with it since its a company truck.
Type to ya later.

I saw an ad in one of our local papers for a late 70's Chevy Luv for sale. I was very surprised when I saw the ad. I thought for sure that all of those trucks would be all crushed up by now and made into something else. It had a 4-banger, 4-speed, long bed with 91K original miles on it, all for just $350 (Rusty)
I think that I will go and buy it. Yeah right!!!!!!!
All work and no play, all work and no play, all work and no play, all work and no play!!!!!!!!

I did try the 4wd on a rain slicked residential without traffic. I put it into Neutral then shifted into 4 Lo. I then selected Drive and it wouldn't move forward, (at idle, most of the time, light throttle opening for a second or two) and Reverse.
*I got the idea of using 4 Lo with trans in neutral, because the other week I test drove an old Jeep Cherokee. This was for a friend who doesn't yet have a licence, but has the zodiac boat. I also tried 4 Lo on a rain-slicked residential area.*
Even when the trans was in Neutral, it felt like there was a bit of light grinding, so I abandoned my attempt at 4 Lo.
It did shift into 4 Hi no problem. I know about the part-time t-cases and how they want the front axle to spin the same speed as the rear, so I took it to the end of the street and gradually made a right turn, noting the front tire and rear tires hopping a little as I made the slow right turn. So I know the 4 Hi is working fine.
Back to the Cherokee test drive, it was neat having it in 4 Lo. I love how at idle it crawled along at 1-3 mph. (our speedo is in kilometers per hour)
I got it up to maybe 12 km/h or about 8 mph and to prove that the front axle was engaged I eased into a left turn. I turn the wheel a little and nothing happened. A little more and not much happened. So I turned it to the lock to make a sharp turn at maybe 1500-1800 rpm and I got the Cherokee sideways only doing 5-7 mph. (but still on the road)
What fun!!!
P.S. Your weather sounds awesome! We've been between 40-55 F and overcast most of days since mid-October; kinda yucky.

It was a weird front that came throught that day. Set records for our area. We're back to 80-degrre weather now. It usually doesn't get cold down here until Jan, Feb, and sometimes early march.

We were both in the Nav at Pearl and then in SD. On military pay all you can afford to drive is a Chevy Luv dude! It was either that, or a Ferd! I just pulled my hat down over my eyes when we drove by someone I knew! It was my buddy's truck, I just drove it sometimes when we went on the longer trips to Vegas, San Juan Capistrano, Julian, and LA. You'd have to be nuts to take your vehicle down Mexico way - even in those days! Just about every car or truck in Tijuana had a big ding or a dent in it! We would stand out like big time gringos in a baby blue Chevy Luv with no dings! The cops would probably thing we stole it from some teen-aged girls!
I'm a realist dude! Sad but true - American automotive quality is just crap these days, and I wouldn't pay 60K for a house, much less for a truck! Do you know how many 70's Chevy beasts I could buy for that kind of money ? A small fleet of 'em! Toyota quality is the best I've seen so far - I don't like that fact, but I didn't make things that way. Those big dorks at the big 3 are blaming everyone, and everything but themselves for the *** they have gotten themselves into. Most idiots have no business driving an SUV. It's NOT a car and can'd be driven like one, but I see these idiots upside down, sideways, or pasted to telephone poles all over with their big SUV's.
...and yes, a stopped clock is right twice a day. I can't disagree when someone is right no matter who they are - even if they drive a Ferd and say they never had a problem with a Ferd! Live & let live dude!

Well, at least that's still better than here as record cold anytime it's not summer, which is almost always below freezing.
Did you read my new post on #102? I drove in 4wd for the first time. *GRIN*!!!

Ya, I'm back ! I'm becoming boring as *** with all this 'work' *** lately. " Work is for people who can't go fishing!"
Ya, all those Luv's should have all been turned into 'lawn art' or 'artificial reefs' by now!
Speaking of stupid looking trucks - I saw a Suzuki Samurai with 33's straining down the highway to hold 55mph on the the way home today - That's just WRONG! - on so many levels I can't begin to count them! There aught to be a law!!
