Perhaps they removed a post or two?

The reply I'm thinking of said something like "... I don't care how many people it offends, I will celebrate Christmas anyway I want until the day I die..." It was a response one of the numbers on the list:

(You might be a redneck if...)

It never once crossed your mind that the word "Christmas" or the phrase "... one nation under *** bothers you.

That's about all I can think of that could have bothered Josh or Liz that week... Coincidentally, the next post someone responded with an "AMEN and Git-R-Done!"

The 235/85/16 tires are great, but make the ride crap as they are E load tires, plus I run them about 65psi for mpg and tire wear. The skinny tall tire is nice in the winter, plenty of traction, but on soft fields, the skinny-ness rears its ugly herad as I sink really deep.

The truck is a reg cab, and only has about 150 lbs of junk (tools...) in the bed (always).

The 235/85/16 tire is a hell of alot heavier than the 225/75's I had. The 225's were no-name 8 plies. The BFG 235/85's are 12ply with a 3ply sidewall.

My 32x11.50's have been gone for a while, but I get 2 mpg better with the 235's (as of recent).

Ride is crap? Like you cringe every time you seam a seam in pavement or railway tracks?

Ok, i had a 90 Chevy S10 with a 4.3 V6 3 inch body lift and 31 inch tires.  The tires would rub so you will have to put more than a 3 inch body lift.  The 4.3 pushed the 31's like nothing and i wouldn't expect it to have any problem with 33's.  If you are worried about parking you shouldn't be offroading.

I didn't necissarily mean it would be hard to park, I was just thinking when in the city in tight parking spots I could fit.

I just think an s10 would be a better first truck because it's smaller and would get a little better gas mileage than a fullsize.

I think the zr2 package is a good idea becasue it comes with a ladder frame, a toughend tranny.

If you mainly concerned about mileage, a 1/2 ton truck (full size) with the 4.3L V6 have the same EPA rating as an S-10 with the 4.3L V6.

Me, I like the idea of having a bigger truck, even if it's a little slower (but not too slow) if it'll cost me the same amount. Do you need/want the extra room or do you need a higher amount of power to weight?

I am stuck in the mud; between an s-10 and a 1500.

-I think th eagility of the s-10 would be nice, but small.

-The fullsize would be nicer especially on trips because the extra space.

Can you jump dunes w/ a f/s? (I mean, will it be okay, as long as I beef up the suspension)

Turn up the tunes, and vibrations from the subs drown out the vibrations from the imperfections in the pavement.

My truck rides like a truck, not like a mushy z71.

You woudl be a hell of a lot better off jumping dunes in a 1500 than in an s-10!

I had a feeling my friend didn't know what he was talking about.

I am leaning towards a fullsize for the moment. Does anyone wheel in south california? What are the trails generally like?
Are many f/s friendly?

I'm going to ask on some othere forums?

You guys have helped me a lot so far!!

I also heard rumours that 1/2 ton Chevy's and Fords have slightly better insurance rates than S-10's or Rangers because the small trucks are more popular with young guys like us. (I'm 24)

I've heard a lot of people like "pre-running" in SoCal, which means they modify their trucks to get really long suspension travel and get airborne. (certainly not cheap) I'm sure they have all kinds of offroading there except perhaps mud bogging.

BTW I wouldn't recommend dune jumping in any stock 4x4. However if you want it to be able to take whoops better, a not so expensive mod that could be nice is get a bigger tire than stock and air it down offroad so you have more cushioning.

Well, I don't mind it so much now.

It's nice to know I can get back next year. At least now I'll have a better idea of what not to type. (lol)

BTW, have you ever been to Cedar Point?

For a fullsize, I would get 33's, maybe a 4" rancho lift.
For the rear, I would just get 4" or so leaves. For the shocks, I would get rancho rs9000x or the rs9000x pros (reservoirs).         <- WOuld all those be a good comprimise between street and offroad?

I do know some spots where people mud bog. I am just wondering

if there are many f/s friendly trails in south CA, especially local ones.
