Is it just me or would anyone else like to see the Ultimate Avalanche Vs. the USD?

Not even a contest.  Why waste all that gas to prove something we already know?  The USD(even with 2 flat tires) would kick the Ugly Avalanche's butt up and down the trail.

Oh yeah, I like Fords!

THough we all know the outcome, I would like to see it anyways, a battle of the fullsized like.  I think it would be a sweet write up and we can find out exactly where the avalanche trails behind the usd (other than looks)

Not a ford fan, but the super duty kicks a$$.  I'm still not sold on the avalanche. Plus, I want the tire off of the usd.

Yeah that would be cool, after all they did do the "Clampy" v/s the USD, so the UA v/s the USD would be cool. I am a Chevy guy too, but the USD does kick butt.  The UA has some cool features like rear steer, self destruct, auto tranny milkshake, and spew parts on the highway.  The USD eats axleshafts for lunch and spits out rear lift block for dessert.  (Ditch the blocks and get new springs guys, lift blocks suck) Fred William and crew will have to get the ol' UA back together before it can go head to head against the USD.  Although not really an even competition it would be cool.

4WOR staff, that sounds like a challenge!

I think my truck could take on USD, LOL! 04' Ram 3500 SLT CTD QC 4X4 w/ 8" lift and 46" Michilins. The stock 03+ Ram 2500+ axles are much stronger than Fords junk.

recently they did ditch the blocks and replace them with some rearched springs from i think it was skyjacker.  but no *** they are building a vehicle for the U.A. and using lift blocks?  what up witht that?  i dont know how they lasted either. cause they didnt have any prbs with them on the adventure in 2002 right?

Sorry, takes a real truck to beat the USD!  And Dodge doesn't build a real truck.  (I like the Cummins and Dana axles, but junk the parts with Dodge stamped on them)  You just built Jinxy II!

When was the last time you rode in a f-o-r-d. They rattle like no other, And if you really want to test the UA and the USD you need to go north and find some cold weather and deep snow. The USD probably won't even start if it is below zero.

I ride in FORD's all the time.  And to tell you the truth, if any vehicle rattles and falls apart, it's a Chevrolet.  Their interiors are a P.O.S.

I drove a 2000 F-550 as a wildland firefighter with the BLM for 2 years.  That truck when lifted a bit would do just about anything and go just about anywhere (within reason).  We had a 12,000 lb. Warn winch on it for when we would get bogged down in sand though.  When you're carrying 300 gal. of water plus a huge pump and lots of gear, you tend to have problems staying on top of the deep, soft stuff.  I drove it on power line trails designed for quads, and all kinds of gnarly washed out trails in order to get us to the fires that we had to fight .  It had the venerable 7.3L Powerstroke and did very well.  There was one thing I didn't like about the Super Duty though, and that was that it did not like starting in cold weather.  However, we easily remedied that by plugging in the block heater over night.  We had absolutely no problems starting up after that.  Most vehicles don't like starting when it's cold.  It's not a problem that's limited only to Fords.

Leave your truck in the middle of an open area on a night that is well below freezing and is really windy.  Don't plug the block heater in either.  I can almost gaurantee that you're going to have some trouble starting that rig.  Especially if it's a diesel.

I think that the USD would tear the UA up in any arena unless they seriously addressed the issues with the UA.  I think it would be kinda cool to see them pit their drive way buildups against each other.  Those are much more practical than either the USD or the UA.

I ride in a F-O-R-D every day and that rattle is just comforting.  You don't really notice it because that means it is still running!  My Ford only rattles because it has been worked like a dog for nearly 20 years(5 years of hard wheeling by me).

If you want a quiet ride keep your Chevy(city truck).  If you want a working truck break out the BLUE OVAL!

The USD is a diesel so of course it starts hard.  But I could probably push it through the snow further than the UA would make it before it grenaded some parts all over the trail!

my wife drives a 2500 avalanche every day and let me tell you its bad .We have pulled over 12000# over 500 miles and never one problem. This has been done a few times.Maybe the problems with the ua is that all the aftermarket products were not designed to hold up to the massive engine.

p.sYour comparing a grocery getter to work horse are you jealous.

Over 500 miles. WOW!  You must be an hard-core hauler!

The discussion is about the UA, not your vehicle.  Check out all the articles on the USD and UA and see which one has a laundry list of problems.  Not to mention that the USD has bigger tires, more torque, and stronger axles.

I think you are confused, the word jealous impies a yearning for.  When I see an Avalanche the only thing I yearn for is a trash can to puke in!  I am never jealous of plastic parts and ugly bodies.

for real the avalanche is one of the ugliest suvs or pickups ever (see the discussion on the new durango for the ugliest and 2nd ugliest suvs ever)  But i wuld still like to see the 2 ina  battle to the death, that would be sweet.  As for the towing thing, 500 miles is pretty far for your everyday vehicle thats not used to hauling.  Maybe we could do this

USD vs UA vs Clampy vs the "4x4 of the year"(pfft) VW Tourag or however u spell it.  Now we can see if the ua can stand up to something along its level (the vw) while we watch the usd decimate all
