I love your rag, my bedroom floor is literly coverd with it, so are my shelves! The good points are that it covers a wide range of wheeling, from mud, to rocks, to trailrides, y'all hit that on the head. And the my favorite part of your mag is the readers rides section, this month alone, you inspired me to make more rigs on my favorite game, 4x4 EVO2. Now the bad parts, yienze print all of the rants that some useless nut brains think up. That bugs the snot out of me. So does the fact that you don't have a section for people that don't have rigs like me, I'm 13, and I'm building a mini rockcrawler out of a lawnmower and a quad. Also, you don't have enough pages, and to many ads! Oh, and one last request, can you cove JeepFest '06 this year, it's in Pa, the site is jeepfest.com. Thanks, Mike

1st of all I want to say, great mag! I went last year without a subcription and couldn't handle it.
a couple of things I would like to comment on are(1)most of the mag was full of rock crawling articles which are great, but I am really missing the mud articles. I would just like to see a few "rooster-tails" flying when Im flipping through the mag.
(2)Another thing is that Im tired of jeeps on every page. Now don't get me wrong jeeps are great off-road vehicles, but lets see some fords and chevys. Ya know, the old beaters that us low budget off-roaders have.
The mag is very informative for rock crawling and jeeps, I can't even imagine the info you could give on other things.

Well, the Grumpy Trucker is going to toss this out. First off, I have owned several 4X4's from a '64 International Travelall to my current '04 Dodge Diesel. I have never wanted to, nor am I going to crawl over rocks. I have no want or need to get knee deep in mud, just to spend two days trying to clean the goo off my vehicle. I don't want to, no never will, jack up a vehicle so tall that I need a step ladder to get in it. For those who do all the above, knock you socks off, and enjoy yourselves!!!
I get your magazine for all types of fix up ideas. I got the info for an aux fuel tank for my '99 Powerstroke, and read the article when Transferflow came out with the replacement tank for the '04 Dodge. While I do read the articles on the rock crawls, and the mud drags, I turn most of my attention to aftermarket parts, and the testing of these parts. I think it was your magazine that I got the info for the center counsel vault that is currently on order.
So, I say keep up the good work. There are a few of us out here that buy 4X4's to get through snow, do some mild trail riding and the such.
Grumpy

I read you mag and have enjoyed it .Since I joined a 4x4 club it seems to be like most clubs. We have the Stokers and those starting to modify your 4x4 and have the all out rock crawlers it mostly the hard core 4x4 that seem to enjoy your mag and that is the way the world turns. but we all have something to learn from others. you cant make us all happy so just keep on doing what you can. But again it is the Crawlers that spent the most money on fixing and fixing there 4x4 ,so I learn from them and do or don't do and it saves me money.
Just my thoughts

Great build on the K10!! A lot of useful info, especially in my case. I'm buildin up a 78 'K5, but I don't have the funding you guys do. In the long run though I've found that doing it yourself, and at your own pace is all the more rewarding - I wish I could eat the whole cake in one sitting, but I'll just have to settle for a little piece at a time.
You guys are doing a great job! keep it up!
btw - I didn't hurl on my screen at the mention of the Ford T-case install, but I did dry heave ![]()

I think you need to get more of the big three trucks in there and more mud instead of rock climbing. The trucks gone wild was cool but you needed more about it, and more pictures.

It seems that everyone is just complaining about there being too much of one brand and not enough of another, or they're complaining that there's too much rock crawling and not enough mud. There are a few things I think are safe to assume about this magazine, and I would like people to realize them. 1) This magazine is not designed specifically for you. You are not the center of the universe. There are other people that read this magazine, and they do not all have your same tastes. 2) There is more than one brand of truck. My personal favourite happens to be the Jeep XJ, yours is probably something different. This magazine is not intended to be the Jeep XJ Monthly or the Early Ford Bronco Digest. The magazine is about trucks, not your truck. 3) There is more than one kind of four-wheeling. There is rock crawling, mud bogging, trail driving, etc. This magazine is not Mud Bog Magazine. It covers all kinds of four-wheeling. Maybe the last few issues had too much of a certain thing, but if you look back at the last year, or two years, you will realize that there was plenty of your favourite brand, type of four-wheeling, tech issues, etc. This magazine is an absolutely GREAT all around off-road magazine, which is what it should be. It might not give you your fill of your specific preference every month, but it captures the essence of four-wheeling. This is a great magazine, keep it up! Tim Plett

This is indeed a wonderful publication.
To get to my point, The articles for the "red sled" have ben fantastic. I love 'em. I enjoy all the real world testing and problem solvingin the articles.
I would also like to take a moment to praise evryone at 4WOR on what I have interprited as responce to the comments posted in this forum. I see fewer Jeeps and not nearly as much rockcrawling asI did when I first suscribed. I, inturn, have noticed lotst more teck articles and mud bogs.
The only aspect of the mag. I have issues with is the number of pages. There is simply not enuf in one issue to last me the whole month, or even 3 days, to be honest.
PLEASE, if at all possible, include more content in each issue. This would please me to no end and I am sure nobody will complain.

Yes, but last year or the year before are not the ones I want to read now. I have already read them.

Yes, I realize that the current issue will always be the one that you are concerned with, but my point was that it all evens out in the end, and if this month's issue seems to be all Jeep, chances are there is a month coming with lots of Ford (I'm guessing that's your truck of choice, fordf250man). Also as far as rock-crawling vs. mud bogging, these guys are limited to the events they can go to, and if it so happens that one month all the events were rock-crawling, the magazine is going to have coverage of rock-crawling. If they went to a bunch of mud bog compertions then they will have a lot of mud bog articles. Once again, this magazine is a general offroading magazine, and a very good one at that. If you really need more Ford or more mud bogging, find a Ford mud bogging magazine.Tim Plett

As MudMonster correctly pointed out, the only thing this mag really needs is to get more content in each issue. Or perhaps just more issues per year. Could you imagine getting a brand new Petersen's every week? Do we dare to dream? Tim Plett

I like reading and looking at the magazine. Im 15 but love looking at all the trucks and accesoires. Just helps me dream up the perfect 4x4 and have something to focus on in the future. Plus I like to be a baja racer so that adds to it.. Plus my first vehicle is gonna be a truck so I like to see what I could do with it. Also I like learn about all the 4x4 events. Be nice to camp out and the next day go drive a trail with all your buddies and other 4x4 owners.
