I just got the October issue and wanted to talk a little about the article on page 86.  "Recycled Bucket".  I could tell very easily that it was a half article, half advertisment for Car Quest, but that's ok.  I sill liked it.  You know why?  Because it showed everyday little things that anyone can do without needing welding experience or a ton of money in tools!  In fact, I'd like to see a project where you take an old truck (your choice) and get it running right with just the minimal amount of hand tools.  Just to show it can be done well while on the cheap.

I know you had your $1000 cheap project rigs at one time.  How about doing another, but keeping it around for different easy projects to show?  

I have to say that the "4x4 of the year" articles are what got me hooked on the mag back in 98 when I was 14... I get exited anytime there is an article on anything basic build, budget build, or multi-purpose bulid, I can't afford to do a big build on my Explorer but I love 4x4s and would like to see more close to stock vehicles in between the cover pages... they just get me more exited about going out with or wrenching on my own truck... Love the Mag and keep it up...  

I have been reading 4wor since 2000  and i have to say its my fav.I do get tired  of people bitching about too much chevy, too much jeep too much this too much that. to me it doesnt matter if the info is on a jeep. or a freaking geo metro. the point of the articles is to give people ideas to modify their 4x4.I personally have used many ideas from different projects and features on tv and in magazines.I think rick and fred and the rest of the crew at 4wor do a great job of covering a little bit of everything on this great past time of 4 wheeling. sure my fav articles were project premudder and the 82 blazer featured in many articles they took on the 2003 ultimate adventure. but i like to look at other rigs too.it also seems like the do at least 1 issue a year now that is dedicated to budget buildsI have built my 81 blazer with a $10k budget.. I started with a clean $3500 2nd owner  blazer with fresh drivetrain ( crate engine, rebuilt th350,208, 10 bolt /12 bolt axles) and added a 4" lift, 33" bfg m/ts,truetrac front diff,( had factory locker in rear)kc lights,fabtech desert guard, and holley truck avenger carb.( bunch of other stuff too. this is not my first build, I also built a 90 bronco.I have found useful info for both builds in 4wor... just my $.02
