I'm guessing that you are a jeeper like f250 is a ford man. i like them all. I drive a NISSAN TITAN and hardly see too much in the mag. h-ll go to 4 wheel home page and look at the brand pages h-ll ! I can save you a trip it says CHEVY, FORD, DODGE, JEEP, TOYOTA. I very seldom see any thang on a NISSAN and am about the only NISSAN on here. went to the primedia and seen project TITAN they took a 30,000 to 40,000 $$ truck and cut it to hell and back and put some bling sticker's on it and parked it at the sema show looking like a bling bling rock rider or a dog pissing on a tree i live in the FL. panhandle and so does alot of readers the closest thang to a rock i see is when i go to town and jump a curb i don't need to whack up my truck and put a straight axle and 3 to 4 foot shocks and some bling bling stickers on it to go to the woods around here we have mudd mudd mudd and sand sand and hell some more mudd and sand they should just whacked up another rocky jeep its got where you see jeeps running around here with 2 gas can a high lift jack, lights every where dimond plated aluminum every where so many bars they should have just put it in a cage and a winch that looks like it came off a wrecker truckand most of the time they just park off to the side of the hole's or mudd flats with a tire on a fallen down tree trying to look like a dog pissing on your leg just dying to see if somebody going to take a picture so they can strike a pose while every body else is giving her hell shoot i have seen them taking pic. of themselvesi think the mag. need's to do some heads up wheeling between all of the truck's and mix it up a little you know the body of the jeeps aint changed to much in its whole life it got when you see one you seen them all just diffent height and color.. love the mag but its starting to test me and reading some of these threads i ain't the only one give us some every day wheeling and working trucks some old DATSUNS,and the new international's and old , old fj's, power wagon's , unimogs IFS truck's of any make some rangers if nothing else a da- helicopter playing in the mudd all that ya'll build i'm sure you can make it happen be creative .

I very strongly agree with your sentiments against posers. They fall under the same category as those who lower trucks and put spinners on them. Just plain wrong. Yes, I like Jeep, but to be honest I like anything that has an engine and two or more wheels. I'm more about the tech than the bling, and I'll wrench on anything you give me without prejudice.

I did not mean for it to sound like i was against jeep just bored with them . I call all that fancy stuff bling. and beleave if thats what some people want it's theirs to do with as they dream like we do with ours but it ain't my cup of tea and my cup is not theirs but do admire any thing that people has worked hard for . its just get's old seeing the same over and over. and i agree on the part on wrenching on any thang love to see how new or old thang's work or how to change up some thang's.

Well, you seem to be a fairly level-headed and open-minded person, and I must say I have a lot of respect for that. It seems that half the people on this website have a vocabulary that only includes FORD and MUD. It just bugs me how unreasonable people can be. I agree that it can get tired to see the same thing over and over, and I've realized what I think could be improved on in this magazine. I think they need to focus in on the unique aspects of each individual. So often we just see a little 2" by 2" photo of the bottom of a truck in the corner of the page. I would love to see 4 or 5 full page pictures of the technical parts of a feature vehicle, not just a big picture of the paint job.

Yea don't get me wrong about rock riders they have alote of skill and some very bad trucks and i like to see them in action. i like all thangs with a motor or wheels and yes some do love just a chevy, ford toys, dodge, nissan, or what ever brand. but i don't think alot knows that chevy has been foreign since around 1937 or earlier. as for as i date it back so far as national motors bupyeong-gu, incheon, s. koreathen changed to saenara motors in 1962 then saenara motors was bought by shinjin industrial in 1965 wich changed to shinjin motors after joining toyota. and that the pontiac Lemans wich also carried the badge (GTO) were first sold in the USA and around the world by DAEWOO. this hurt a friends feelings when i showed him this info he has a Lemans (GTO) he bought new in high school and still has it. in 1985-1988 . in 85 the nova was a toyota sprinter a upmarket of the toyota corolla, and the spectrum, it replaced the chevy citation. 1988 was the last nova nameplate it came back in 1989 as the GEOPRIZM and this goes on and on.its like the hummer wich is not built by GM its built by AM GENERAL. GM just has the LIC. just saying some people need to learn some history on what they say is american. maybe this would make a great article for the mag. the history of the chevy, ford, dodge and other brands.especially JEEP thats a mess to try to understand from BANTAM to dodge.

I think that over all the magazeen is great, but I also think it should have things other than tires, wheels, and winches it should advertise things for starters that are just now building off-road trucks also it should have starter tips for them.

I've been reading your mag for about a year and i love it! My brother and i have been buildind cars for awhile and now have the 4wd bug. What i would like to see more in your mag is re building rears. This is something that i can't afford to pay some one for, so i would like to learn my self. I'm not talking about danas or 14 bolts, I'm talking about your basic 10 and 12 bolts that us poor people have . I'm building 89 chevy suburban with 3in body with 6in suspension on 39.5 tsl super swappers. This is the 2nd truck this set up will be on . The more tech stuff the better. thanks for your time. keep up the good work.
p.s. sorry for any miss spells and grammer mistakes.

OK just to let you know my subscription has run out but I am writting to tell you why I am not renewing and ask a question (that I probably will not get an answer to since everytime I write I hear nothing back nor see anything in the mag).First the reason I am not renewing is simple-10-15 years ago your articles on someone's ride were 3-4 pages long-now your lucky to get 2 pages (if that)and the rest of the mag is advertising. Case in point-the July 08 issue page 58 "The Perfect Pumpkin"- 2 pages but broken up by 2 pages of advertising!! I have to rip out 2 pages just to get the full view of the largest picture!! Now I know it costs money to run your mag but who wants all that advertising crap-if you need more money why not just raise the price of the mag and subscription and give better quality articles as in years past. Now for my question, page 82 of the same issue talks about a diesel in a wrangler(which at one time I too thought would be cool)but now diesel is over $4.21 a gallon(maybe more now)where as gasoline is much cheaper-How are you saving money by having that diesel and paying over.75 cents more per gallon of fuel? You would be better off with a 2.5L 4cylinder (like my wrangler)and be able to put the cheap stuff in.Hey I know it is underpowered but with a few modifications (which I am doing now)like a 63mm throttle body from a 4.0, Helix spacer,K&N intake, headers, etc. the power gets better without much loss in mpg.(with a light foot maybe a gain in mpg.)Also does anyone make a stroker kit or is there anyway to stroke out the little 2.5L 4 cylinder? To me that would be cool, a little 4 popper with some serious punch(I had a Honda CRX civic SI with just a stock 4 cylinder that really screamed-why can't we build that into the Jeep 2.5L?-I used to race mustangs with V8's and could keep up-then I could blow them away on the back roads!). All that said I wish you would answer my email and give me a reason to keep the subscription alive-but in this fast paced world I'm not counting on it and so I bid you Farewell! Sincerely, Jim Watkins

Well here's my story. I was at your ultimate adventure in wyoming. Loved it!!! I was speaking with Oli that evening about 4wd's and other related stuff and when speaking about these trucks he speaks of them as fun. We talked about out situation in wyoming and our way of life here. He said to me he has never really lived anywhere a 4wd is a requirement, or a way of life. I just thought that was interesting conversation. I live in wyoming and forget sometimes whats going on in other places. It gets worse the further north you go. On the ultimate adventure its nice to see trucks that are not trailer queens. I'm a fullsize truck guy and those off road design trucks were nice, and the kaiser to. I've been kinda reinspired by this event on my love for building trucks. Most people don't appreciate what it takes to build a quality truck or even care. Rick Pewe has a very serious undertaking going on here that you don't see on tv and he does it. If it was just for the money I don't think he'd do it. I believe he does it for the love or whatever word you want to use to promote this crazy thing called off roading. Thanks Rick and friends, keep on wheelin. Good 4wd's are built not bought!

On the ultimate adventure they had a good mix of trucks. jeeps, yota landcruiser, fullsize chev's, heavily modified old bronco's. Our local guy's ran jeep stuff. Their was some other type of vehicle but it was silver forgot the name but was a cool rig set up nice. O'yeah and the kaiser, big ugly nasty truck, loved it. Wish they woulda had a fulsize ford and it would have been damn near perfect. Liked the tube framed jeeps nice rigs. Hope I didn't miss anything probably did. But it was a good mix and lots of gadgets. Forgot Tim and the zuki thats been hammered on forever. Got a nice photo of him working on it. I'm just rambling see ya'll later.

yeah... i've noticed that most people don't really understand wheeling a daily driver... I also live in wyoming and my rig is going to need to operate year round... if i break on the trail then it's not just "oh well... guess i can't wheel till i get it fixed" it's more... "oh crap!!! how am i going to get to work monday" but i still wheel it because i love it... and love to test what i've built... everything i've done to it i've done myself... including shortening the rear driveline myself... and shortening the frame... myself... real rigs are built... not bought... and pretty much every guy i know has built their rig themselves... so as for the rigs that were sent to a shop and built to someone else's spec's... i'm not too interested...
